Righto. The things I was reading seemed to indicate it meant more generally a horse that hadn’t reached mature age. Here it very specifically means a horse between 1-4. Younger than 1 is a foal, and a female is a filly. I’ve never really seen any Americans use those terms though, which was why I was a little confused.

@catwing I think I like the idea of choosing our favorite sentences better 😉

We use the word colt for a male horse that hasn’t reached adult age yet.

@rochellaine @catwing @jenwriter17
And I’m pretty sure I have no interesting sentences, but this one…
This brumby was one of a highly sought after colouring–not quite pure white, but not cream or golden either.
…is a reference to one of my favourite childhood books, The Silver Brumby.

@catwing @rochellaine @seekjustice
oh yeah, my sentence…
I didn’t know if we were doing our favorite sentence or the last sentence we wrote, so i’m just putting here the last sentence I wrote: Vega twisted one of her box braids around her finger.
I know, gripping isn’t it? 😛
@catwing I like your sentence 🙂

Guess what? I got 269. Without eating pizza.
I’m sort of stuck on the details of capturing brumbies though. Exactly how one does it with a horse and no helicopter.
By the way, Jen. Since you are an American horsie person, what does the word colt mean? You seem to use it in a different way to we do.

My guild did not win the last word war though 🙁
Okay, I’m putting my timer on.

@seekjustice oh, yeah the sentence thing sounds fun 🙂

Oh, really? I was using Scrivener for my last war and my word count was terrible! 🙂
Pizza calls right now, but I’m sure I can eat and type. I need a handicap anyhow.
Oh, really now? @rochellaine I think we’ve been insulted 😛
Y’all ready to start your timers? Ten minutes, here we go! 😀

I have a secret… for some reason Scrivener counts more things as words than Word, I’m pretty sure.
But yes, I would love another war. Pizza calls right now, but I’m sure I can eat and type. I need a handicap anyhow.
Also, do you want to do that “share the last sentence you wrote” or something like that for some fun?

@rochellaine A lot of things were foreign until we became writers 😛
*head smacks back against chair* 596 words?! I think you’re the fastest KP writer, Chelsea 😉
You all wanna have a four warrior word war? 😉 Ten minutes?

@jenwriter17 @valtmy @rochellaine @catwing
Um, hello again!
My timer has gone off, though I’m not sure about Catwing’s. I got 596 for all who wanted to know.
I was also just laughing because “Prince William gave hope to thousands of bald Englishmen by losing his hair”.

Funny how books will go in their own directions 🙂
Catwing and Seekjustice are warring right now, but they should be done soon.

@catwing @seekjustice I’m back! 🙂
Can I join in the next war when you two are done?
@catwing, the guild’s month-long word war is pretty cool, isn’t it? 😀

Awesome. See you then 🙂

I believe it does, though I don’t really use those features a lot.
Ah, that’s why you were wondering about Android. What do you currently use? Google docs or something like that?
I’m fairly certain Scrivener can be synced into a word doc, but I much not sure how to do that.

Aha! Someone to word war with! You may choose however long you like 😀

Yes, I am still sick but I feel I’ve been miserable for long enough and must drag myself from my sickbed and start writing.
By the way, I started my NaNo novel a few days early and was writing it in Scrivener and I love it! I’m finding it quite easy to use for first drafting, easier than I expected.
