Fine, three. 😛
And yeah, Carlotta usually has a much more operatic voice, though I don’t whether she’s usually played by women with operatic training.

Whoops! I literally write your name on autopilot now 😀
@valtmy sorry! See above 😀 (I accidentally tagged Rochellaine instead of you!)

But Christine actually only sings in an opera in one scene (The Point of No Return), the other opera scene her part is silent. And people get killed over the fact that her part is silent too.
Just out of curiosity, how many musicals are there about opera?

Yep 😀 I don’t know, he’s definitely horrible, but he’s still a father. Oh, and technically, Zac’s father is dead too, but…that’s minor and I didn’t kill him. He was just dead already.
I don’t know, I hope so. Though I’m not sure that Justice’s mother, or Sapphire’s mother, really count as useful.

@valtmy Yep, they are! That’s why I was proud of myself for only killing two 😛

They do, for about a total of ten minutes 😛 And that’s heaps enough opera for me!
That’s true, but at least I’m not being so cliché. isn’t Young adult fiction notorious for killing off all the parents? All my characters have at least one live parent (but not all the parents have live children…)

@catwing Goodnight!
@rochellaine I’m very proud of myself, I’ve only ever killed two parent characters!

Maybe I would, I don’t know 😀
I’m listening to the Phantom of the Opera currently. 😛 But I do have to point out that he’s the phantom of the opera house, which doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be an opera, just that its set in an opera house.

@catwing Poor Gary!
@rochellaine Phoebus is also the epitome of abusive man 🙁 Victor Hugo was just really into murder (he’d be even more frightening to meet than me!) Anyway, that’s my rant for the day on why I didn’t like the book. I also just don’t really like the gothic horror genre. I didn’t like The Phantom of the Opera much either when I read that.

@catwing Redeeming characters is the best, isn’t it? I love doing it! (What happened to Gary!!!???)

See above answer to @Rochellaine 😀 Part of the other reason that I found it really difficult was that Claude Frollo, who is the archdeacon of Notre Dame and the main character of the book, lusts after Esemerelda, who is only fifteen/sixteen years old. He even comes extremely close to raping her. When she consistently refuses his…[Read more]

Well, in the book, everyone, everyone dies, with the exception of the small goat and the useless poet. Quasimodo drops a beam on Jehan Frollo’s head, pushes Claude Frollo off the roof, pours molten lead on everyone else. Esmerelda gets hanged and finally Quasimodo starves himself to death. That’s only the ending, the rest of it is w…[Read more]

The Disney movie and the Broadway musical (the adultified version of the Disney musical). I’m not brave enough to see any of the other ones. I’ll be honest that the book horrified me.
@valtmy Hello!

No, actually. I’m reading an article with dubious morality and lack of Biblical basis and making mental responses to it.
Well, I’ve read the Hunchback and seen the movie and listened to the Broadway musical (which is hugely interesting, because it has a deaf actor in it. So I find it fascinating), but I don’t particularly like it.…[Read more]

@skredder So, uh…for some reason I can’t get to your google doc anymore. I think it’s a problem on my end, and I’ll try to figure it out as soon as I can. Just a heads up though; it might take a while to figure out, cuz the problem just kinda came out of nowhere…
