@skredder Okay, that makes sense.
Have you ever realized how big the US is compared to other countries? A lot of tourists come here and say that they want to see the Statue of Liberty, the Grand Canyon, and the White House, and don’t realize that it takes hours and days of driving time to get from one to the other. 🙂

@rochellaine Yeah, being blown backward by winds that high is probably a whole lot more fun to write than to experience! 🙂
Flying as often as I did is unusual, but my folks lived 300 miles apart. Driving simply would’ve taken way too long. 🙂 Of course, there were also family vacations that we would go on that had us going all over the country.…[Read more]

@skredder When I went on the bridge next to Hoover Dam the winds were pretty strong, but I don’t know the exact mph. I thought of this scene, and when I researched for it I found that the wind gets up to 50 mph there, and that’s enough to blow a 100 lb person off her feet. Chara is little, so she’s supposed to be about 90-95 lbs, and could e…[Read more]

@rochellaine Getting blown over by the wind was pretty funny. I live in an area where the wind is on a breezy day about 10-15 mph. And there have been numerous occasions where I had to go out in 30 mph wind. So, that was kind of a relatable part that made me giggle. Also dealing with unyieldy suitcases and seeing the Las Vegas airport. I was there…[Read more]

@skredder Glad you liked it! What funny parts, exactly? I mean, it’s light, and fun, but what parts were funny to you?
Oh, do you travel often? I fly about once a year to a conference my law school holds in Nevada but thankfully my brother always goes with me, so I don’t have to worry about finding my way around. I just follow him, and he tak…[Read more]

@rochellaine I rather enjoyed this! I really liked the funny moments that were in there. And I can confirm that navigating airports can be daunting even for the seasoned traveler. All-in-all, I would keep reading this. 🙂

@valtmy Having the baby be a deep sleeper would definitely work. When I was a baby, I slept something like 20 hours a day, and when relatives came over they wanted to see my eyes, so my dad would toss me in the air (gently, but he is very good at that) and talk to me, but I would never wake up. 🙂
My older brother, on the other hand, slept…[Read more]

I have an awkward conversation whenever someone asks me “so, what’s your book about?” I’m like….uhh. I used to start out by saying “it’s fantasy”. Until my mom said that for her generation it meant a totally different (not so great) thing. O_O Whoops. So now I can say it’s fiction. *laughs* I guess I’m getting a *little* better at saying what…[Read more]

Hi! 🙂
So I am writing a supporting character who would grow from a baby to a child in my story. The growth of this character is crucial in driving the plot, highlighting the theme and developing the other characters so I don’t exactly have the option of deleting him or making him older. But I don’t have much experience with kids (youngest in my…[Read more]

Nice to meet you and Stan! Great to know that you find my story interesting.
You and @dragon-snapper have no need to worry about any sort of INTJ rebellion. It will go against our whole ethos to behave recklessly or take any action that would be detrimental to our long-term interests.
*whispering* All right. I s…[Read more]

And going to sleep is a very good idea. Thanks for the advice. Especially since my writing has been going nowhere fast. 🙁
