Fire Face hissed and arched his back, his purple fur sticking straight up as Snake came down on all fours. Carrie took a step back, half expecting Snake to attack.

“My name is Carrie. And, I’m not a native.” She frowned, shaking her head. “I don’t know where we are. You’re not from here?”

“What is…” Carrie’s eyes widened as she whispered the words. Not far head of her was a… dragon person?

Was that what all the residents of this land looked like?

Carrie stepped foward, trying to appear confident.

“Who are you?” She demanded.

“That sounds… very strange.” Szabrin said, “My world doesn’t have one. It’s dark. All the time.” She shrugged her shoulders and fell silent.

“Sun?” Szabrin squinted up at the shining white disk. “I’m starting to think, Ellis Percaro, that you and I do not come from the same world.”

Szabrin didn’t know what else to do, so she followed Ellis, if that was his given name. Szabrin could never tell with those tricky foreigner names.

“So, um, Ellis?” She said, after a few minutes of silence, “Do you know what that is?” She pointed at the blazing moon in the sky.

Rin cocked her head. “Strahcha.” She said, “I don’t know about other continents. The darkness makes traveling overseas difficult.”

Interesting, Strahchi will do something similar, addressing each other by their middle and given name (though ofc for them the middle name comes before their given name). Adress only by given name is reserved only for family members. People rarely address each other by their ‘last’ name.

She is aware that not all cultures function on the same naming mechanics, so she’ll probably assume that since he gave no middle name (which are always one-syllable and follow a specific pattern) that his name works normally.
