Love your new profile picture, @anne-of-lothlorien
Also, the quote is from The Scarlet Pimpernel to chauvelin.
So do I get to go now, or do we wait for you to confirm we are correct?
“So you’re bravely refusing to fight a swordsman half your age?”

Intoversion/extraversion is merely a question of where your brain is at rest. Introverts tend to be calm, reserved, thinkers and their brain is at rest when they spend time with a few chosen friends or alone, whence the confusion people have between introversion and timidity. They dream vividly and have a tendency to have overactive imaginations.…[Read more]

@the-bean, yes, I would say a lot of writers are introverts.
@anne-of-lothlorien, Yes, I do that a lot! I’ll just take a few aspects (or maybe their looks) from someone I know and add a few quirks so it doesn’t look intentional. 😉 I’ve modeled a few characters after myself, and that always ends up interesting. 😛 -

I do that all the time, @anne-of-lothlorien. Most of the characters in one of my stories are modeled after my brothers and sisters who grew with me on the same infamous beanstalk in the corner of mr Blanc’s bean field. Ahh, the memories…

@Dragon-Snapper um… keep it to myself. 😛 Trying to explain awesome story ideas or plot twists to non writers just never really works. If it’s just too amazing to not tell anyone, I’ll tell @Emma-Flournoy because even though she’s not a writer herself she understands. 😉 I also write it down in my little pocket notebook. I have at least three…[Read more]

@Anne-of-Lothlorien You’re on and it’s not Monday!
And that’s a quite odd nighttime story. 😛

@anne-of-lothlorien @jess Oh, I really liked Ever After! Especially with Leonardo. He was great comic relief.

So, I know I’m reeeaallly late to this topic, but here I am.
While I liked Frozen, it wasn’t my favorite. I liked the “just because he’s a prince doesn’t mean you should marry him” theme, but it was okay otherwise. I personally think that Big Hero 6 had better themes for dealing with depression, death, loyalty, doing what’s right, etc. (Sorry…[Read more] -

We are better at hiding sin. And we sin because we have a sin nature. Not necessarily because we weren’t raised right. There are many adults who are horrible people but were raised in good homes. It’s kind of sad that I saw that from a young age. But parenting does impact kids in…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien I’ll check out Beyond the Mask for sure. And I think Ever After would be cool too. Romance movies are totally my guilty pleasure (if you know what I mean).
@emma-flournoy Yeah. It’s harder to read books here. No libraries. I know you’ve mentioned the Mr. Smith Goes to Washington before so I’ll be sure to watch it. And I love A…[Read more]

I love songwriting! I think that what you have is pretty awesome. But a difference in rhyme scheme or meter might help. In order for you to not bore your audience then you have to have variety. Repetition too, but most people already have a good deal of that. So variety.

@kate-flournoy has a lot of good points @anne-of-lothlorien. And @emma-flournoy is true about the stereotype. I think that the best way to write little kids is to give them great reasoning because to them everything is quite logical. They just have less understanding.
Also, something I’ve noticed is that little kids are pure evil. I’m serious.…[Read more]

Man, there’s some really good advice here. *takes notes*
@anne-of-lothlorien I’m the youngest, so I don’t have any little siblings, but I have some young cousins and close young friends who are practically family.I agree with what everyone else has said. Little kids are bundles of energy and love. Their minds are more underdeveloped, so they see…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien This is so good. I love it! Such a good reminder. I really wish we could hear you sing it now 🙂
I actually had a phase two years ago in which songs were all I wrote 😛 They were horrible though, some with a bit of mixed up theology, some what I called “rap” or “spoken word” (still awful), and some just poems I called songs…[Read more] -
