      If you have a reference picture for me to go off of, I could definitely try to draw your character 🙂

          oops, let me try that again. Sorry, I’m still getting used to how tagging people works:

            @Daeus Thank you! Your reply was very encouraging! If you ever think of those things that you think I could improve on, let me know! 🙂 I always would like to know how I could improve.

            Thank you so much! It is encouraging to hear that I was able to portray Ellen’s character well. I was wondering if her character was underdeveloped, so your reply was very helpful.

            Thank you for pointing out the typos. That is incredibly helpful!

              Oops, Gabrielle, it didn’t tag you right that I responded. I’ll try again @winter-rose

                @Graciegirl
                I rhymed? That was completely unintentional! That’s cool that you picked up on that, because I am obviously oblivious to it. Where did I end up rhyming? 🙂
                Oh! That’s sweet that she has the same name! 🙂

                @Gabrielle
                Thank you! I was hoping I didn’t reveal things too quickly, so that is in encouraging to hear.

                Thank you for forgiving me. 😉

                    @Dragon-Snapper Thank you very much! And thank you for reading. 🙂

                    @Kate-Flourney and @Ethryndal Thank you both for your feedback! I am glad that you both mentioned that the dream seemed short because I was wondering if it was. The reason I strayed away from it was because the dream was not very detailed in the Bible, so I suppose I was lazy in coming up with a description. I will try to elaborate on that more because I agree that it is THE pivotal point in the story.

                    As for the switching tenses, that has to do with the copy and pasting method. What seems to be present tense is supposed to be highlighted because those are his thoughts, but the italicization did not carry over. 😉 Thanks for pointing that out though!

                    It was also good to hear feedback on the “modern” speech. I was also wondering about that, not knowing if it sounded too modern or if it helped people relate more.

                    Thank you all for your feedback. I greatly appreciate it!

                    Happy New Year to you too. 😀

                        Hey, guys! I’m back for a little bit after finishing a semester at college (yay!). But now, after being gone so long, I have been trying to get reacquainted with this great forum! 😀

                        I’m having a hard time figuring my way around, (maybe because I’m used to the OYAN forum set up?) would anyone be willing to just give me an overview of how things work?

                        All I basically know how to do is read already posted articles, but I don’t know how to post anything for peer critiques, or don’t quite get the guiltiness to submitting things for the magazine. Do our submissions have to go along with the theme of the month?

                        So any information on how things work around here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

                              @kate-flourney Congratulations on being the first to reply! 😉
                              I write in historical fiction mostly, for my brain doesn’t comprehend fantasy too well. My first novel was set during the Civil War, and my second one is set during the middle ages sometime. It isn’t during a specific historical time period, but it isn’t in an alternate universe either.
                              As for poetry, I really know nothing about the different types. 😛 I like rhythm and rhyme, and I suppose psalmistry type (I would call that a type!). I like poems that capture an event, an idea or a perspective that any other form of writing couldn’t accurately and emotionally capture it. I like poem’s with deep thoughts and profound truths.

                              Any tips you have on poetry, please let me know! I need all the help I can get.

                                  Hey everyone! Thanks so much for all the welcomes 😀 I am wanting to reply to each of you individually and will do that soon, I’ve just got back from a weeklong road trip, so I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. 😀

                                  Question: How do you insert emoji’s? 🙂
