It's December, which means the Holidays are just around the corner, and that we are heading into the penultimate month of the Dragon Slayer Contest!

Yep, there's only two months (December and January) to finishing writing articles for the contest. So it's time to uncap your swords, sharpen your pens, and slay articles in the penultimate month of the Dragon Slayer Article contest!

So many spectacular articles have been written the the last couple months, and I am exited to see what's to come in these final months!

December is a busy time of the year, so making time for Dragon Slaying can be difficult. So here's a little tip!

To be able to write articles more efficiently, "write" the articles in your head as you do mundane tasks.

Like while you are baking cookies, wrapping gifts, and scraping snow off of the Kingdom's ancient library, think about what you want to say in your article. So that when you do find a bit of time to write your article, you already know what you are going to say.  Making the writing process so much more quick and easy!

And to those without an ounce of interest in slaying any dragons this December, we'll catch you in January with freshly released articles on the topic of...

Finishing and Editing Your Novel

In all the surveys KP has done over the past year, one of the common struggles expressed by many KeePers (possibly even yourself) is the struggle of finishing a novel.

How do you finish a novel without getting stuck or losing motivation along the way? What do you do once you finish your novel? How do you find everything in your novel that needs fixed and to edit it in an effective and efficient way?

There’s a lot of uncertainty when it comes to both finishing novels and editing novels. So our mission is to shed light on this subject and help guide you through the ending stages of writing a novel.

Do I write articles for January's theme in December or January?

The theme of January is finishing and editing your novel meaning, that all articles related to that topic will be published in January.

So write your articles related to January's theme in December so you can submit them before December 25th.

Do I get entry points for submitting articles for the Contest even if I don't get published?

Yes! You get one entry point for every article you submit to Kingdom Pen that follows The KP Guidelines between September 2021 and January 2022.

And if you do get your article approved and published, you earn 10 more entry points!

Do I have to write and submit articles related to the Theme of the Month?

Not at all! The Theme of the Month is just there to have a general focus for the month.

You can still submit and get articles published in a month whose theme is on a different topic!

Can I still submit Poems, short stories, and book reviews?

Absolutely! However, they won't be counted towards the Dragon Slayer Article Contest.

And that's it! That's January's Theme of the Month, plus a bit of info on the current Article Contest running to hopefully clear up some of your questions!

I wish you all a awesome (and festive) writing-filled December! Good luck to those going off to slay Dragons this December!

And to the folks who be sittin' back enjoying a potentially lethal slice of apple pie, look forward to many fantastic articles coming your way!
