@theducktator oh that’s so cute with the ducks having to take a journey to get to the others. I love it.
@ellette-giselle I never liked dolls growing up and didn’t have any, but I did have TONS of stuffed animals and when I was 8 or 9, I often acted out elaborate stories with them at night when I was supposed to be sleeping.Re-enacting Narnia must’ve been cool lol. Did you have a lion plushie or plastic figure for Aslan or something?
And whoever else is in the roleplay discussion, my brother and I STILL do this thing where we hang out in each other’s rooms on the weekends and tell stories to each other until 11 at night. There’s a whole timeline, and every time we get into a new fandom we might add those characters to our cast…..
so yeah, the tales of Crater Base get crazy. Literally, it’s called that cause it’s a base in a crater where everyone from different universes work together to defeat the villainous, dimension-hopping Nova (and sometimes other baddies), and assist the somewhat benevolent but also violent and ferocious Icebreaker Empire.

December 17, 2024 at 5:29 pm #192262I’m glad it’s a good one. I’ve imagined telling it to little kids at reenactments (Which is to say, I’ve imagined being in reenactments).
Crater Base sounds interesting! Sibling built stories are the best.
You know, we played some elaborate games with our dolls, Littlest Petshops, and LEGOs, but I think our stuffed animals were the most epic. We had Catland and Dogland (there were other countries, but they were not world powers) and all sorts of inside jokes which were mostly at the dog’s expense. We used handkerchiefs to make clothing for them. And just like bookworms, we got into fights about how the maps should be laid out etc. XD
Which might not be exclusively a writer thing, but it’s pretty close. The Brontë siblings made up kingdoms with their toy soldiers.
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
December 17, 2024 at 10:02 pm #192271I never cared much for dolls either. Just rubber ducks and stuffed animals. Crater Base sounds so fun. One of my sisters and I have an ongoing saga with 15 giant sparkly ducks, but it’s pretty much all romantic drama, and some almost dying.😂 And we’re also trying to take over the world with a duck army.

The rubber ducks are our main power, but there is also Legoland, Pom Pom Planet, Ponkalodaland, the alien duck planet, and several others that I’m forgetting. The stuffed animals inhabit the same planet as the ducks. Oh, and also the magic ducks that lived on the sun, and the alternate dimension of past ducks that were at war with the humans.

Devote reddamus!December 17, 2024 at 10:03 pm #192272I acted out the entire Narnia series with my dolls once.

Devote reddamus!December 18, 2024 at 7:33 am #192278They were small dolls. Just the right size to ride my brier horse collection. I did have an Aslan toy. He was smaller then the horses……
Oh well.
I made them swords out of toothpicks and foil. I think I still have them. And I sewed them all costumes.
I also did the whole Narnia series with my paper dolls when I was really into paper dolls.
Thank you! XD

Toothpick swords are awesome.
@theducktator your duck stories genuinely sound amazing lol
@elishavet-pidyon haha!! your cat and dog kingdoms sound great, and yeah the map thing gets crazy sometimes. I think in me and my brother’s stories, we kinda have a general idea of how the planets are laid out (there are zillions haha) but like not any of their specific names or where exactly they are in the universe or anything. I don’t remember if we’re restricted to one galaxy or multiple."When in doubt, eat cheese crackers."-me to my charries who don't even know about cheese crackers
