When your mom starts telling you about what she learned in her concealed carry class and what most excites you is how useful the info will be for your writing.

Ha! Love it, Daeus.
And Kate…I’m cracking up. My first default response to any unexpected situation, especially embarrassing or dangerous, is to laugh. The second is to think, “Oh, cool. Brain, let’s take notes.”
You know you are a writer when shopping for notebooks and pens is more fun than shopping for candy!
The Scattered Writer
Your mom is in the kitchen preparing to can her special recipe of cinnamon apples.
You come into the kitchen and notice the brilliant red solution she has prepared to soak the apples in.
Your first thought is POISON.
You know you’re a writer.
@Daeus…that made me laugh so hard! My parents teach Concealed Carry classes, and I learn a TON through all the research that my mom does preparing for the different classes we offer. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not, but it’s fun… 🙂

You know you’re a writer when you make writing an excuse for everything.
Why are you talking you yourself? I’m a writer.
Why are you researching how to fight with a dagger? I’m a writer.
Why are you always on the computer? Take a guess…

When your five year old sister asks you, out of the blue, ‘Why are all writers crazy?’…
… you know you’re a writer.
Hey, we could turn this thread into a book. ‘The Aspiring Writer’s Guide to the Ins and Outs of a True Writer’s Life— are you, or are you not?’
I see what you did there, Kate. I don’t think you did it on purpose though….
What? What did I do?
By suggesting that we turn this thread into a book, you brought up a trait of writers: They want to turn everything into a book. 🙂
Ah! Okay. Yes, I didn’t even notice that, but it’s true. 😛
Very true.
