@Hannah-krynicki I haven’t seen the Lost Colony play but it sounds fascinating!

Everyone, I need your help. Yeah, you just heard the ultimately awesome dragon say that, but that’s not the point. I’m on the verge of melting my own chair here, so you can see that it’s urgent. I haven’t written anything significant in weeks, and its getting to me. I can’t seem to write anything or get any ideas, so here I am, asking for ideas. As many as you can give me. I need them. If you all give me some, I might be able to combine them into one big story until my writing brain starts working again.
Thanks!

January 4, 2017 at 12:21 pm #23724@Dragon-Snapper You could write about an ultimately awesome dragon who melts peoples’ chairs…no seriously! If you’d like to write comedy!
But I’ll think more and pop back in if a really good one strikes.January 4, 2017 at 12:24 pm #23725@Dragon-Snapper Here’s a prompt I turn to when I’ve got an emergency like that on hand: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6ZQ8C5RHtQ. Watch and listen to the video. That should do it, if you’re at all into fantasy.
You will draw water joyfully from the springs of salvation. (Isaiah 12:3)

January 4, 2017 at 1:36 pm #23731@Dragon-Snapper write about writer’s block. Write about a colony of owls who decide to take over the town library. Write about writing. Write about what deja vu is for. Write about a sparrow hatched in a dragon’s nest. Write about a grandfather clock that makes friends with the maid and spills all its old family secrets. The sky’s your limit.

@dragon-snapper Write about a shy protagonist who really likes cake but is afraid to tell his family because they are all extremely vegan. Write from the perspective of a single book as it passes through the hands of its owners.
January 4, 2017 at 5:53 pm #23755@dragon-snapper Write about an extrovert who’s invisible. Or an introvert who’s a giant.

January 4, 2017 at 7:08 pm #23758@daeus By the way, a couple of months ago you dared me to write a story about a character who believes he is an apple pie and is very disturbed by the fact. I did it. 🙂
@dragon-snapper I was reading the book of Job the other day, and there’s a passage (Job 28) that talks about mining, and people finding beautiful treasures far beneath the soil of the earth and away from men, and, being a writer, I immediately thought, “Contrast! Gems in the darkness! How cool!” and my story alarm started going off. So I encourage you to read Job 28 and see if your story alarm goes off.YA Fantasy Writer

Also, this site has been a help during my “writing-droughts.” There’s lots of prompts and generators that have given me a few little ideas.

@dragon-snapper are… are you… *gasps* asking for help?! the ultimately awesome dragon?! 😉
well, Pinterest always does the trick for me, there are a billion and a half writing prompts on there.
Another thing I sometimes do is people watch. Like at a store or park or anywhere. Just pick a person, observe their appearance, then write about them. 1st person POV proves to be interesting 🙂
I find inspiration from the strangest places, so I don’t really know how to help you. Take a walk, find a quote, chose a random word and write a page about it. Idk. -
