Have some one you can talk to about all your ideas. I have a friend who I will text when I’m trying to figure out something for my WIP(s). Sometimes just talking to someone helps me think better.
April 19, 2016 at 12:20 pm #11456@adry_grace, Oh, neat! That sounds like a lot of fun. π For an English assignment one time, I had to listen the conversation of people I didn’t know and make it into a story. We went to an antique shop. It was so fascinating listening to conversations and writing them down (although it was hard to write fast enough π ).
April 19, 2016 at 12:39 pm #11457@gretald That would be a great English assignment!! I might make that one of my English assignments. (I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to assign myself homework, since I’m homeschooled) An antique shop would be a great place to people watch. I’m gonna have to try that. Usually I just people watch at the library, because I go there regularly anyway.

@Adry_Grace don’t laugh… but I talk to my characters. π- This reply was modified 8 years, 7 months ago by Kate Flournoy.
April 19, 2016 at 12:48 pm #11460@kate-flournoy To laugh would by hypocritical because I do the same thing.

Yay, so I’m not as weird as I thought! I do it too! π πA dreamer who believes in the impossible...and dragons. (INFJ-T)
April 19, 2016 at 12:53 pm #11462Oh you’re still plenty weird, @ingridrd— it’s just we’re weird with you! π

@kate-flournoy, Oh, I won’t laugh–only because I do the same thing. π
@adry_grace, I know…I want to do it again. Really. For my birthday this year, maybe I’ll ask if I can go somewhere and just listen to people’s conversations. π I actually just went back and read the dialogue I wrote. Oh my word! It was awful. I’ve learned so much about writing since then. XDApril 19, 2016 at 1:02 pm #11464Wow, that smiley face in the b-quote looks…a bit squished. XD
April 19, 2016 at 2:03 pm #11465I find closing myself in a room with no distracting sounds, nestled among ten or so pillows on my bed helps me concentrate on what I’m writing. (I’m one of those easily distracted people! hehe) Or at times, I’ll type away in a coffee shop where I can discreetly glean character ideas just from watching the people who shuffle in and out. π
April 19, 2016 at 2:11 pm #11466@hannah-olsen, Ooo, a coffee shop. I need to do that. Soon. Problem is, I live in the country.
April 19, 2016 at 2:24 pm #11467Hey hey hey! A newcomer! Welcome to KP, @hannah-olsen! Wow, you make like the fifth Hannah on here, I’m gonna start getting you guys mixed up soon. π How about you head over to the ‘Start Here’ forum and introduce yourself so we can give you a proper welcoming party?
April 19, 2016 at 2:53 pm #11468@Greta: I live in the country too, so the closest coffee shop is sadly 35 minutes away. Yep, that shows my dedication to coffee! π
@Kate Flournoy: Thank you!! π Heading over there now…
April 19, 2016 at 3:24 pm #11470@hannah-olsen, Don’t get me started on coffee. π Starbucks, especially. You just can’t beat their frappuccinos. π
