@seekjustice ONE OF MY AUSSIE FRIENDS! So good to see you! Of course I remember you! (sorry it took so long to reply…I was performing with my band the past couple days)

You know your Origami Cranes story was my first experience at beta reading actually and was what made me love doing it so much. I was probably not much help on that story though lol.

Life has been doing me a number actually. Since being on here crazy things have happened…some of them good some of them heart rending, but God has held and protected me through them all and will continue to do so.

I am graduating this year and am working on my English and Creative Writing degree through Southern New Hampshire University. I’m doing it all online so that’s nice.

Lockdown has been weird. A lot of my family in town has been to scared to let me come over and hang out with my nieces and nephews so that is frustrating. Also the libraries are closed. So frustrating.

How’s life been for you? How’s writing been? Do you have a current WIP? How’s lockdown treating you?

@shannoncv To be totally honest, I’m making this up on the spot, so be prepared for some creepy lines of verse.

            ENTER: STEVE

“My merry good sir, of foolish delight

You prance all about with your hair — what a sight!

And delve into valleys of deepest candour

In order to find the steepest deplore.

Why would you durst follow elvish respite?

To know that your rank is a foolhardy plight?”

            ENTER: KEVIN RANSOM

“Ha! Ha! I see that you’re all for divulgence

When coming unto my most humble appearance,

You see what you wish for your own purposes,

But fail to see why I ever would wish

To go to a people of regality

As elves or the men, or the dwarves with their tea,

For know this, Sir Steve, that whatever is bought

There must be a payment in gold, detailed wrought.

So thus it has been with my life, you do see

That payment was given to elves in their glee.”

            ENDNOTE

Now THAT is pretty nonsensical, yes?

A portrait of character wrought by a pest

A note, so recounted that time has been stern

And twisted Kev’s story to foolhardy parts.

@leon-fleming You do not fail to please, that was very intriguing. “A portrait of character wrought by a pest” was a spectacular turn of phrase I must say *nods like a connoisseur tasting a bit of expensive cheese*

I now know to whom to turn when looking for a bit of poetical nonsense. Thank you.
