In the world of Ehverwyld, magic is an evil thing. It twists those who use into horrible crow-like monsters. Alan knows this. It took his family and has left its mark on him. Alan deeply regrets the day he used it.
But it isn’t the end for Alan yet. He’s determined to put his past behind him, by joining his country’s army. He will prove to the world, and himself, that magic has no grip on him. He’s not a monster, but a hero.
But redemption too has a cost. One perhaps greater than magic’s. Will Alan be able to pay it? And, more importantly, will it be worth it?
Hello Everyone! I’m back!
I’ve returned to working on my trilogy. While my original intention was to work on the first draft of book three at this point, I’m still not entirely certain what direction I want to take, so I’ve returned to book I for now.
With my last draft, the part I was least happy with was the old opening. So I have rewritten it. So far, I think this version of the opening is the best one I’ve got. Please let me know what you think!
Also, trying something new out with the chapter openings. Let me know what you think. For those of you who have read my stuff before, who do you suspect the author of these is?

Hey, sorry I haven’t been notifying you guys of new chapters, but I’ve still been writing. Eight more chapters of draft 3 have been completed. Please let me know what you think!
For those of you who have read this already, I especially want to know what you think of chapter 16. Since I had a lot of trouble with it last time, I tried to spend some extra time on it for this draft. I’m curious to see if it turned out or if is still needs a lot of work.
Also, you may want to take a look at the chapter headings. Chapters 3-10 have a little surprise at the front!
