@linus-smallprint Probably a good idea to wait till a later draft.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Alan and the group!

March 13, 2025 at 4:22 pm #199943I see the prologue (btw I love how it’s called “The Chapter Before”) already has a title!

Oh… just you wait. There are things. Also stuff.

March 13, 2025 at 4:37 pm #199951Yay!
(I kind of want to tag some people who haven’t read book one yet to see how well I can provide context in book II, but maybe I will wait for a later draft for that. what do you think?)
One of my pet peeves is when authors provide tons of context about book I in book II. If you start at the middle book in a series, then you deserve utter bewilderment. XD

Go look at Alcatraz if anyone disagrees with that statement,
No half-heartedness and no worldly fear must turn us aside from following the light unflinchingly.

Yeah, but the other reason to do it is to refresh the reader’s memory of the previous book. Notice that while Alcatraz complains about it, he still does it. The trick is to include it naturally instead of going out of your way to do it. So I hope to find a way to do that.
I think I will just stick with people who have read the book one draft(s) for now.

Okay, the prologue is out now. I’m a bit missy with the point of view in there, but I am trying not to care right now.
If you encounter ${ } in my writing, this just means that I am using a placeholder.
Now I need to go shovel.

Messy…. I believe.
Yes. I feel like correcting people’s grammar today.
Maybe I’ve been writing too many Nazi POVs.

March 14, 2025 at 3:32 pm #200013Did you get snow???
Yes. Up here in Canada, we’ve gotten snow as late as May.
Maybe I’ve been writing too many Nazi POVs.
Probably. No soup for you.

It’s 18 degrees Celcius outside and the warmest thing I wore today was a sweatshirt.
*chuckles because I get to say I’m Canadian whilst living in a Southern area of Canada*

March 14, 2025 at 10:32 pm #200054Lucky. I wish we got more snow. It’s been in the 70s today. Beautiful, but I want to go sledding.
