I’m not particularly against the “warrior female” trope, but I am against completely messing up a character’s personality for what’s basically no reason.
Making Martha into an Astrid-like fierce girl would make no sense narratively, nor would it fit with Linus’s role for her in the series. Like Ellette said, I like how she’s not a warrior, but she’s also not a “woe is me! I’m so timid!” kinda character and actually stands up for what’s right, even if it gets her in trouble. (I actually hate wilting violet kinda charries more than the toughies cause they’re just so GRATING to read about. Like, stop expecting everyone to do the defending for you. We can’t all be Huntress or Liberty, but that doesn’t mean we can’t stand up for ourselves if we have to.)
