Hello everyone! I’m back (not that I ever left, life just caught up to me and I couldn’t really keep up with the forums). But now that everyone else is back I’m going to make an effort to be around here more often.
For those of you who don’t know/remember me, my name is Chelsea. I live in Australia and apparently, I have a very strong accent.
I write a weird combination of historical and fantasy fiction and my current WIP is a fantasy retelling of the lives of Jeanne Baret (first woman to circumnavigate the globe) and William Dampier (a discoverer of Australia and first man to circumnavigate the globe three times).
My favourite authors include Rosemary Sutcliff, Tolkien, Dickens, Victor Hugo, Naomi Novik and Kate Forsyth.
I currently work as a dog trainer so whenever I’m not writing or reading I’m working with my dog in hopes of winning big competitions and becoming famous π

May 14, 2020 at 9:09 am #81370Hello. So glad to see you here again. Your WIPs always sound so interesting π What type of dog competitions do you work on?
May 14, 2020 at 10:00 am #81373@seekjustice Hello! I remember seeing your username, i just don’t remember if we ever interacted. What are your favorite Dickens books?
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysMay 14, 2020 at 2:11 pm #81399Hooray for the resurrection of the Kingdom! Is @rochellaine still around here at all? Your WIP sounds really cool! Want a beta reader eventually? XD I’ve been working on OOTA a lot lately, which has been really awesome. π

May 14, 2020 at 2:24 pm #81401@seekjustice – I LOVE that one of your favorite authors is Victor Hugo. You don’t see that all that often anymore haha
Seeking to love those I do not know/ failing to let that love show
May 15, 2020 at 7:06 am #81414Thank you! I know my pitches are always a little weird, but hopefully make good books.
My competition interests are agility, heelwork and sheep trialling. I was hoping to begin competing this year, but unfortunately that’s not going to happen, so it’s just training for now.
@devastate-landing Hey! I remember you! And yeah, I think we’ve had quite a few conversations but I can’t remember the specifics of any of them. Oooh, my favourites areΒ A Tale of Two Cities, Little Dorrit, Hard Times,Β andΒ A Christmas Carol.Β Which is a few, but I can’t choose between them.
@selah-chelyah Yes, I’m sure @rochellaine is still here! @rochellaine where are you? Yes, once I’ve finished writing it you are more than welcome to read it π Yes! I’ve seen your new chapters and started reading them π
@josiahdeboerofficial Hey there! I think i remember you???? I am probably slightly weird. My dog’s name is even Hugo, so the obsession is bad.INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
May 15, 2020 at 9:50 am #81415@seekjustice Nice, nice! Tale of Two Cities was very good. From your signature I take that you fold origami cranes?

If hours don't turn into daysMay 15, 2020 at 10:41 am #81418Oh don’t worry about your pitches being weird. Compared to mine yours sound very reasonable. π It’s all about the execution.
Ah well it seems many plans have been put on the back burner lately. Here’s hoping for a better shot to stardom next year. π
May 15, 2020 at 3:28 pm #81437@seekjusticce – you have a better memory then than I, since I barely remember me from on here

May 15, 2020 at 6:37 pm #81440That’s awesome. And thank you. π I think @rochellaine may be sleeping… XD
I love Hugo as well, minus The Hunchback of Notre Dame. That was a dark story, lol, though I appreciated parts of it. Have you read Les Mis in full? I’m pretty sure we’ve had this conversation before somewhere, though, maybe the SE his-fic people corner…?

May 15, 2020 at 7:35 pm #81441Hey there! π
I think I heard my name. π
What are we talking about, and how’s everyone doing?
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"

I used to fold origami cranes! I actually have hundreds (literally) in a box π I was quite obsessed with them for a bit there.
Yeah, I have the feeling a lot of people are in the same boat one way or another so I shouldn’t complain too much.
@josiahdeboerofficial honestly, I think I remember you only because your name is very similar to Josiah de Graaf’s.
@selah-chelyah Yeah I agree about The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I love the musical though. Yep! I’ve read the whole Les Mis. It was quite a slog πWe’re just celebrating the return of the Kingdom!

May 15, 2020 at 10:40 pm #81452*tacklehugs*Β Hey! Yeah, celebrating the resurrection of a Kingdom and figuring out how many of the subjects are still alive and writing. Lol. How’s life and writing been?
Slog- that exactly describes it. I wouldn’t actually mind reading an abridged version the second time around… XD

May 15, 2020 at 11:34 pm #81455@seekjustice Hello! Your projects sound interesting; never heard of his-fic and fantasy mixed before. XD Sounds great!
May 16, 2020 at 11:12 am #81471@seekjustice Ooh, nice! People have repeatedly tried to teach me, but they all turned out very cruddy XD. Reminds me of a time when some kids I was sitting with tried to make one thousand of them in one afternoon.
