Uh… I don’t remember.
We were in a group of friends and a few of the guys had horse whips that they added crackers to the ends of. They were trying them out, and one of the guys snapped his back and it cut me across the back of the arm.
Then there was another time when I was with friends and that was the era when all the guys in church were making shepherds slings. My brother and some of the older guys discovered how to add bull-crackers to the end so that when you let the Rock fly, if you flicked your wrist right, the cracker would go off “KAPOW!”
Well, I was standing too close…. again, and One of the guy’s let his off and the strap at the end got me right across the face over my eyes. (I shut them just in time, but it still HURT LIKE THE DICKONS!) They all felt so bad and they were all gathered around trying to see my face and offering cold water, and it made me feel super bad to see them so worried that I made myself not cry and told them I was alright. (that always happens when guys get worried. Whether it’s my brothers or friends or dad…. to see a guy so upset because he hurt a girl is something I can’t handle. Just the absolute look of failure and horror because they hurt a girl and they are supposed to protect girls… well it makes me want to try and comfort them while they’re trying to comfort me. 😅)

@ellette-giselle honestly hybridlore’s got a point. It happened as a result of their faith, yes, but it’s been long enough in the story that readers might not be paying attention to that. Also, no one’s brought up why they were captured. I’ll get into that more once I’m finished with math work so hold on a sec. I’m not against what’s about to happen (and kinda saw it coming) but I can think of a few improvements.
Oh, and why I’m not in on the protection business?
I only protect characters whose authors don’t kill them because they like them. LOL

Reading through it again, I realized most of my “improvements” were already there and I missed those parts the first time, but there’s still something I can’t put my finger on that doesn’t make sense.
