March 13, 2025 at 11:08 am #199890I read your latest section. It was good! I left you a few comments on the file. I feel like Cole is going to start getting a little more involved soon.

March 13, 2025 at 4:33 pm #199948Yeah. I didn’t think it was realistic for her to be able to keep disappearing without her family knowing.

He and Alec are my favorite.
I hope one of them dies in the end.

March 18, 2025 at 11:46 am #200247But it’s so sad when the favorite character dies!!! And I love crying over books!!
If they don’t die she at least needs to make life miserable for them for a few chapters. You never know if you’re hero has what it takes until you throw him in the thick of it. I have high hopes for both, and I want to see them live up to it!
I’m also hoping Everette and Sara get married in the future. So… maybe he shouldn’t die.

March 18, 2025 at 12:03 pm #200250@ellette-giselle You’re crazy girl! Lol
okay but I do agree with you, making the main character miserable is fun. Not so much killing them all the time in my book, but brutally scarring them (physically or emotionally) is what I tend to do.
you lose an eye and YOU lose BOTH eyes and this one get his arm slashed off and this one gets her wings shredded. Oh and you? You make it out whole but you have mental trauma!
lol

March 18, 2025 at 12:04 pm #200251I don’t like being super graphic/body horror about it, I just make sure my favorite characters come out of it with a tangible reminder of the incident.

March 18, 2025 at 12:08 pm #200253And not all in the same book too. It’s better if the main characters all go through different things.

Trauma doesn’t automatically make characters deeeeep… 😫
I guess that’s a hot take. 🥲
Actually side note, I’ve been thinking about this topic and we should make a thread for it.
I get you, it’s still fun to see characters get super sensitive because they have no choice. I feel like it depends on the situation. Sometimes life-threatening scenarios are good for the story, and sometimes they’re just thrown in there. The last time I watched something where it happened, it was pretty good.
