I’ve been on KP like a year and a half by now, and I have never seen anyone be that way to another writer here. Most the time, I actually feel like people don’t criticize my writing enough on here. So yeah, maybe people are like that other places, but I’ve never seen it here. Maybe some jokes, but never anything serious.

So last year I wrote for 12 hours on July 1st, and I kinda want to do it again if I can. It turns out perfect cuz it’s actually supposed to rain where I am tomorrow so I have an excuse to stay indoors.
I am going to add editing and writing this time cuz The Baron Chronicles needs some more editing love (haven’t done much since CEW).
Anyways, I’m announcing this in case anyone would like to join me. Happy writing!

Which means I may or may not go over 12 hours tomorrow cuz, for one, I know it’ll probably take me a little longer and two, I have another short story that I’ve had on my mind related to the Baron Chronicles but will not be published with it (IF the Baron Chronicles get published) and i want to finally buckle down and write a good portion of it so I can show all of you.
Anyways, i should go find a nice cushion for the chair I will be sitting in for twelve hours tomorrow…or maybe I’ll just swap it with the piano bench…

Well, to my joy, I am finding, so far, a LOT less things to edit than I thought I would…
…Though, I’m pretty sure anyone else who reads my work will be wanted to strangle me for grammar mistakes I missed and poor scene execution. I’m just blind to it.

UPDATE
I have five stories left to edit. It’s going much faster than I thought since apparently Past Me is better at editing than I thought she was, and besides a few little tweaks, I’m mostly just rereading the stories (which is so much fun! Though it feels almost like cheating. I promise I am actually editing places where I see problems!) I don’t think I can fill twelve hours, since I’ve temporarily paused so many of my writing projects rn that I don’t have much going. But if I can at least go through the entire Baron Chronicles, I’ll be happy, cuz that adds up to 34,963 words read through and edited.
I’m not counting it on my time (since it technically wasn’t writing) but I spent over an hour looking into publishers cuz my original first choice for publishing no longer takes modern books for publishing apparently. I think I’ve decided on what I want to do now (though I need to earn a lot more money to do it). I never realized there were so many bad options for Christian Publishers before now. Most of them are either too expensive for me, not what I wanted, have statements of faith that can be barely counted as statements of faith, About Us pages that leave more questions than answers, don’t accept my genre, don’t take manuscripts except from an agent (which I obviously don’t have), or don’t take new authors, or don’t take people who have no social media followers (a.k.a. me). And others support people or are supported by people that I vehemently theologically disagree with and would rather not be associated with in any way. *Sigh* If this sounds exhausting, it is. I was literally crying by the end, and actually almost quit my entire challenge right there cuz I was so discouraged that I figured I shouldn’t even bother editing the Baron Chronicles if I couldn’t get it published (thanks @Ellette-giselle I’m so glad I checked my notifs, your message couldn’t have come at a better time 🙂 )

I looked into like twenty different publishers today, some briefly, some a little more in-depth. The only two I liked were yours and one that I can’t even submit my book too so…yeah, I’m probably gonna go with you. To be honest, you weren’t my first choice (just a bookmarked page I had buried in my Writing folder) cuz I was advised that when picking a publishing company to choose one that is over five years old, since most publishing companies fail within five years but honestly, I’m gonna take the risk cuz I just don’t feel comfortable and plain don’t like the other publishers I’ve looked at.
If Wild Horse Publishing can keep going over five years, I’m sure you’ll become very successful cuz honestly, looking at your website, I appreciated how easy it was to navigate and how easy it was to find information. More famous publishers that I looked at today were a NIGHTMARE. I literally had to go through a search engine to find things on their website, and even then, most the information I wanted I would have to call, email, or even set up an appointment to get.
Plus, looking at what your publishing offers, it’s very obvious to see (even if I didn’t know) that you actually write and understand what writers want.
Currently, I don’t have enough savings to publish, but once I do, I plan to go with it, and if down the line that turns out to be a mistake, that’s okay. Though, I don’t think it will be.

That’s good to know. I’m gonna still look into marketing, since even if in the end, I don’t need to, it’s still knowledge that can be helpful. Thx!
