I’ve never seen it but it looks so cool and that song is beautiful! I’ll have to look into it some more. 🤍

When my brother saw the trailer, he reported the protagonist was a Mary Sue, which turned our family off. But now you’ve peeked my curiosity. I didn’t realize Peter Jackson was directing it.

December 26, 2024 at 11:49 am #192901Yeah, but do they have plans to take over the solar system as well?
Sun == Warm Canada
Mercury == Lesser Canada
Venus == Poisonus Canada
Earth == Canada Major
Mars == Red Canada
Astroid Belt == Floaty Canada
Jupiter == Stormy Canada
Saturn == Ring Canada
Neptune == Blue Canada
Uranass == Canadass
Pluto == Canada that is totally a planet
Astroids == Baby Canada
Milky Way == Milky Eh!
(I didn’t come up with these. I did modify a couple, such a Pluto’s, which contained bad language, so I suggest you don’t look this up.)

December 26, 2024 at 12:03 pm #192902No? But then, I’ve never been to a theater, and my family doesn’t watch much. It looks interesting.
I did see the first 3 hours of LotR on a longish flight over Thanksgiving. The hobbits were hilarious.

y’all over here tryna colonize the sun
you’ll be pleased to know that in the story universe I’m currently writing for, each country in our world has a planetary equivalent, so you Canadians get a giant planet and probably a bunch of moons all to yourself lol

December 26, 2024 at 12:35 pm #192905@ellette-giselle I saw that on a poster while we were going to the theater to watch Interstellar for its 10th anniversary. I didn’t pay much attention to it which is why I didn’t realize it was animated!! So cool!
I like how it’s kinda cartoony but not over-anime-styled. I’m not a huge fan of most artists who draw like that, but this is one of the times I think it actually looks good.

December 26, 2024 at 12:59 pm #192908Looks interesting! I’ll have to see where I can watch it.
I am a LOTR nerd and have all the back stories and sketchbooks and Tolkien notes, etc. So seeing this story done in film and having it true to the book was amazing!!! Peter Jackson just redeemed himself after what he did with LOTR itself in leaving out so many things and changing some of the best characters.
I saw the three Hobbit movies, but apart from that I haven’t seen any LOTR movies, because I’ve heard about the plot points and the characters they changed. I’ll have to look into this; if it’s true to the book, I’ll probably watch it! Finally!
The reason I read a lot of Tolkien was because there was someone in my 8th grade class who’d read them when he was in 5th grade, and I would NOT be outdone further XD.

hehe the story of his name was that I found this image of a 3D modeled chameleon
then texted it in my friend’s group chat and asked them to name him. Someone said Gerald and sent me the picture (not this one specifically but a similar one) with a cute little hat drawn on it. I don’t remember who.
But when I saw the stuffed one, I wanted to get it solely so I could name it that.

December 26, 2024 at 1:14 pm #192917I mean, if any lizard breed is going to be a fashion icon, it would be a chameleon

December 26, 2024 at 1:21 pm #192920December 26, 2024 at 2:07 pm #192933ooh yeah I saw that! I haven’t actually seen the movie, just the trailer. I watch a lot of anime and I was spotting some old tropes I really hate in the trailer so I didn’t watch it (Women being above average curvy and wearing something tight, while all the men are wearing looser clothes). I’m just nit picky about stuff like that bc I see it so much in anime and hate it lol. But the animation and voice acting sounds really good, I love 2d animated films.

December 26, 2024 at 2:15 pm #192935@mineralizedwritings ohhhh that might be part of what I hate about most anime stuff but like about your art despite the fact that it’s the same style haha
