        @esther-c what a cute scene!

I actually haven’t written much romance (besides the somewhat-sideplot, somewhat-main plot to one story we really don’t talk about) but I like reading it and brainstorming how my characters would act in those situations.

Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.

Random sample, sorry for the odd formatting and notes, It’s a comic outline that isn’t finished yet.

“I’ll consider.” He nods, a restrained smile on his lips.

“It’ll be fun!” Layson smiles, starting to walk back towards the residential rooms. “Besides, you never know what you’ll see along the way.”

Tauren flinches. “Thanks, that makes me feel sooo muuuch better.” He sighs, rubbing the back of his curls.

Lesli smiles indignantly, pleased at her winning over Tauren.

“Why are you two so reckless?!” Tauren laughs, a faint smile lingering on his lips.

          Lesli laughs.

Tauren’s smile fades as he turns away. He aggressively rubs the curls on the back of his head, a pained expression on his face.

Will Lesli ever be satisfied?! No, she’s always got to have that next thing… something bigger, something better, something to puff her ego.

          That girl.

Gah. She’s actually really annoying sometimes.

“Hey Tauren!” Lesli yells across the dance floor, running in her ballet slippers. “Lookit!”

Tauren looks up at the slip of paper in her hand, an advertisement for a dance competition. She smiles expectantly.

“We could—” She pauses, clenching the paper in her hand. “—We could be in it!”

Tauren shakes his head, hands raising up apprehensively. “Les, we’re not that good—”

“—Oh come on, it’ll be great! Just think of the stage—the lights—we could win Tauren. And even if we don’t, it’s a pretty cool show.”

“T-That’s real nice Les, maybe you can find somebody to go with you.” Tauren leans over to untie the laces of his tap shoes. He fakes a smile.

“No but—” Lesli waves the paper. “We could do it! I couldn’t do it with somebody else I mean—”

Tauren sighs, picking up his tap shoes. He stands, already taller than Lesli by a couple inches. “I’m not getting up on that stage, Les.” He laughs, starting towards the door.

“Tauuuren!!!” Lesli wines, running over to grab his hand. Tauren turns, looking back at her.

           “Please?”

Tauren immediately shakes his head, shuffling towards the door again.

“For me?” Lesli’s voice quivers with excitement.

          For you…?

          Tauren gulps.

“I’d be right there with you…!” Lesli squeezes his hand. “W-we could come up with some super cool dance together, I’m sure Ms. Harper would help us.”

Tauren nods, holding Lesli’s hand tight. “I dunno Lesli…”

“It’s ok, you’ll be fine. We’ll have fun.” Lesli lets go of Tauren’s hand wrapping her arm around his shoulder instead. “C’mon.”

(Sequence showing them learning a dance together, with the teacher helping them)

(Show Tauren and Lesli waiting for their turn, the stage looks huge as they come out.)

“We’ve rehearsed this so many times, it’s ok, we can do it Tauren. Just have fun.”

Tauren shakes his head slightly. “I-“

          “I can’t—”

          Lesli’s eyes grow wide.

“Tauren, I know it’s scary…” Alishia comes up behind Tauren, patting him on the shoulder. “If it’s too scary you don’t have to do it, ok? No one’s making you.”

Tauren looks up at his mom, feeling the tension as Lesli glares defiantly. He swallows. Lesli grips his hand tight.

          “Lesli—” Aleshia sighs.

Lesli drops his hand, crossing her arms instead. “He said he’d do it with me.”

“I know honey, but he’s too stressed out right now.” Aleshia places her hand on Lesli’s shoulder.

          “What do you think Tauren?”

Tauren wipes a tear from his eye, looking away from Lesli’s intense glare.

You can do it Tauren. You can do it.

I could feel it radiating off her.

“It’s alright, we can go home.” Aleshia says, as Tauren turns towards her. Tears stream down his face. “I’m sorry Lesli, maybe you have a solo dance you can do?”

Lesli bites her lip, tears starting to leak out of his eyes. “I don’t.”

Tauren blinks, his back turned to Lesli.

          “For me?”

Lesli’s words come back, clear as she had said them months ago.

“Just for the record… I know you can do it. You can’t hide from everything—”

          “That’s enough Lesli.”

Lesli crosses her arms, nearly steaming.

“Live a life with no regrets”

Hah, so much for that. I felt it almost instantly.

          I’m sorry Lesli.

          I can’t do it—

But thanks for believing in me.

Yeah, the romance in my stories sometimes plays a big role, but it’s definitely a subplot. I’m not sure I could write a whole romance novel. XD

@esther-c me neither. I have something of a romance-comedy Star Wars fanfic, but it’s also peppered with a lot of action, so….

                  random question for anyone, but…….

do you ever look up those AI-generated covers for songs where they make fictional characters sing?

(I’m not trying to start a discussion over whether any of it is legal or moral. I’m just asking if you’ve ever done it)

I’m currently listening to a whole playlist where the only singers are Team Fortress characters [a shooter video game I don’t suggest playing, but I love its characters and their voices lol]. I also like battle droid covers XD

                      Hi!!

I always feel bad tagging people to read my works, for some reason. So you don’t have to read this if you don’t want to… I won’t be offended. 😊

Anyway… Here is a scene from my book. heh heh. I really love it right now and am so excited to share it with you all!!

Roan Rallar was in his late forties. In his arms he held a female infant, which was his only granddaughter of the newborn triplets. A toothless smile lit her little round face as she smiled up at him—her bright eyes fluttering open and closed. The little girl and her triplet brothers were the children of Roan’s nineteen year old son, Rei. Rei’s wife, Rachel, held the other two boys in her arms.

The Rallar family had gathered together for a discussion concerning these newest family additions, and what to do with them.

Rei stared out the living room window. He thought for a moment and then said, “Rachel and I are putting the triplets up for adoption, unless you are willing to take care of them.”

“My son, what do you mean?” Roan looked up, “You can’t be serious? You are joking?”

“I meant every word in that statement,” Rei turned around and looked at Roan, his eyes glittered with cold sternness, “Rachel and I don’t even have a house for ourselves, and I don’t want to be a father yet.”

“You are heartless, Rei, and definitely not thinking right,” Said Lynx, the younger of Roan’s two sons. His bright voice and input did nothing to help the situation, though it was true, “Leave them here. You can have them back when you’re thinking straight.”

Rei had always seemed cold. He never really liked children, and never thought that he and Rachel would ever have their own.

“Surely, you don’t want this too, Rachel?” Lynx looked at his sister-in-law.

Sitting near Rei, Rachel held her two hushed newborn sons in her arms. Weakness and stress covered her triangular face, and her black hair—which was pulled into a tight bun—began to give her a headache.

She looked down at the boys in her arms. Innocent, lovable, perfect reflections of their father in appearance. Tears trickled down her face as she looked into their eyes, and they cooed and smiled up at her.

“Rachel,” Rei looked towards her, “We already discussed this, remember? And you agreed.”

Rachel furrowed her brows and sighed. It was not that she didn’t want the triplets, but the stress on her marriage, her want for Rei to be happy, and all it took to care for the babies without help was too much. She also didn’t want to be known as the ‘parent that abandoned her children’. She and Rei had gotten married right out of high school, and the immediate pregnancy thrust the young couple into a world they barely understood. If only it had been one child—just one, instead of three.

Rachel looked up at her brother-in-law with tear filled eyes, but she said nothing.
“Young idiots,” Lynx muttered angrily and kicked the table base, “You can’t care for them because you don’t have the heart to.”

“That’s enough—they will stay here,” Roan said authoritatively, “And when you come to your senses, let’s hope they’ll have the heart to forgive you.”
