Yeah I alphabet thing .. there’s like three different written languages for Japanese, hiragana, katakana, and… I forgot the other lol

Yeah XD He’s the single uncle who knows totally random facts that would probably win him a lot of money on a game show, has a walk-in closet full of board games, knows about a ton of video games, and is interested in anime and manga. But he still has a full-time job. 😂
Are you learning French?
Trying to, lol. I’m learning both French and Spanish through Duolingo. But I’ll be able to learn Spanish in school next year. (Our curriculum only allows sophomores, juniors, and seniors to take the Spanish course. Idk why, lol.)

How do you like Duolingo?
Yeah I’m taking a online college course, it’s for a elective credit. I’m actually a quarter Japanese, but I couldn’t learn it normally because my dad doesn’t know it. And my dad doesn’t know it because a doctor a long time ago told his French and Japanese parents that it would somehow be bad if he learned French, English, and Japanese 🤦♀️ I’m glad we know better now 😂

It think it’s good for the fact that it’s free. I know at the beginning I had to figure out some of the grammar rules on my own, but they’ve updated it since then and I feel like things are explained more. I’m not sure if I could become fluent from only learning with Duolingo, but I no where close to finishing the course yet, lol.

- Little Women, Louisa May AlcottI learned French in high school through a program called Mango; it was connected to the local library system somehow. I remember a little bit, but not much. My brother started learning Spanish with a program that teaches it a little differently- you start off only hearing it spoken, and then gradually they introduce writing, the way you would naturally learn a language if you moved to another country and lived there. They say it’s a better way to learn it, because it’s how the brain naturally processes and learns. I’m hoping to start re-learning French with that program, but we’ll see how much time I have to do that lol.
