XD That’s the first time someone’s asked me! So, I think around the time you joined Character Party, when they were all in a stand off, Nahim pulled his gun out and threatened to shoot everyone if they didn’t calm down…
Nahim
Conviction and Ellis glowed green, but Nahim was not to be daunted.“Lower your weapons! I won’t kill, but you won’t enjoy holes in your arms!”
Leon
“Woah green eyes,” Leon said, “What can that thing do”?Flaz
Flaz jumped backward.“I’m outta here.” He said, and then ran off. “Talk to you later Leon…”
Flaz slid back into his chair and sat there watching everything.
Lane
Lane watched the group nervously. Oh dear. I don’t know what is happening anymore. He put his hands over his face and closed his eyes.Zahlin
Zahlin kept his sword up in a defensive position. He eyed Leon, Nahim, Ellis and the newcomer. This is going well. The Sword said.
Leon
Leons stomach growled. Embarrassed, he hoped no one heard. He stepped back looking at everyone and Nahim. “Are you serious?” he screamed, “We don’t know what we’re doing exactly, and you’re going to turn everyone into swiss cheese?”And it just stuck. Then in another RP, Jonas jokingly said that if one of Bridget’s charries tried to kill mine, they’d be turned into swiss cheese, So i put it on my forum signature. It’s a joke about my gun-wielding charries 😆

December 14, 2023 at 6:44 pm #169743These are good questions!
So number one, what do you dislike about a lot of contemporary? (especially ones with teenagers and younger adults)
This might just be me, but I don’t like stories that are super gooey and romantic, or at least stereotyped romance that’s not realistic. Don’t get me wrong- I enjoy a good romance, but when that’s all the book is about, it feels a little… stale? Life isn’t all about finding true love. There’s so much more to it, and I feel like contemporary stories can tend to center on romance too much. I think the problem is because they don’t know what else to write to make the story interesting or relevant, but I think there are a lot of other things that can be relatable, which I’ll touch on in a moment.
What do you love about a lot of contemporary?
Any well-written book can inspire you no matter what genre it is, but I like how contemporary has a more familiar touch to it, and you get a glimpse into a life outside your own, in the same time that you live.
what do you find to be relatable traits in characters?
I tend to gravitate towards Christian contemporary, probably because it’s difficult for me to relate to someone who’s not a Christian and has different values and motives. I enjoy a book that allows me to see the characters flaws and struggles but also portrays realistically how they learn to overcome them throughout the course of the book.
what do you find to be unrelatble?”
I think sometimes books either show Christians who are unrealistically perfect, or if they have a major issue, the process of overcoming that issue is unrealistically quick. Quite often in real life, it takes time to heal, it takes time to process, and it takes time to grow, but it’s easy to miss that time element in stories, and it can make it harder to relate to the character.
And on the topic of relatable/unrelatable, I mentioned romance and how that’s not the only thing that can be written about. Friendships are another type of relationship, and so is family, and both of those play major roles in our lives, not just romance. I think sometimes it’s easier to write romance, but in this point in my life, I also want to see good examples of friendships and family relationships.
I hope that helps you a little bit!
