Not the greatest, actually. I’m in kinda a weird place in general in life… idk. I’m not as bad as most people you generally think of as chronically ill, but I don’t have the stamina to work like other people either. I’ve always liked to think of myself as not being ill, so I got into the habit of minimizing my own symptoms. It was fine because I was doing online school and didn’t have to work, but now that life’s kinda hitting me I have to be more honest about what I’m actually capable of… I’m highly competitive so I like to push myself, it’s hard not having that option. And I have pressure from my dad to move forward in life, which doesn’t help. I want to be like other people my age, but my health is limiting me. What I’ve been dealing with the most recently is that my mom (who when I was younger did so much to try to help me, still does) doesn’t fully understand what I’m going through (I don’t talk about it much because I don’t want pity, and because it’s a daily thing for me) so she doesn’t know emotionally how to support me best. So yeah… that’s how I’m doing 😂😅

It’s coming closer to the time sis leaves for college (like, really close) but I’m making it. Our church came together to pray for my sister and my family in general today and I cried, but it meant soooo much to us 🥹
It was a great reminder that we’re not alone in what we’re going through…reminded us we have God and a whole church family behind us…and even though I cried, it actually made me feel a whole lot better 💖
I also worked Nursery today, so a 5-year-old and her 3-year-old sister both really cheered me up and made me laugh…they’re so sweet and silly 😂💕
So yes, not the best, but not the worst, either.
I’m taking it one day at a time, and trusting God with the outcome…he’s got us, even when we don’t feel him close…that’s when he’s closer than ever 💕💕

That’s so sweet what your church did for you!💗 I’m so glad you have such a awesome group of people to have fellowship with.
Yeah sometimes you just gotta cry. I cried right after we sent my sister off to live with our cousins, and again around Christmastime because she wasn’t going to be with us. I haven’t seen her in nearly a year now 🤯🤯!! I’m going to get to see her again in like 2 days for about 5 days while she will be in town, she’s staying at our grandmom’s place to sort through her stuff before she heads off to college.
I know it feels hard, but I’ve really felt like each hard thing in my life has turned out to be a blessing. Not having in person friends has shown me I don’t need other people’s approval to be happy, and being by myself so much this past year caused a good deal of self reflection, and made me carve my own path in life instead of following my sister (as much as I love her, I needed to do my own thing for a bit). I know you’ll miss her but I’m sure you’ll do ok and still have a awesome year. <3 I will pray for you and for her safe travel!

Not all of these are POV characters (at least for now!! 😆), but these are kind of the main characters in the book…that takes place in WWII France!! 😍
of course…that means France is occupied by the Nazis…but anyways!!!
Now for the characters 😉
The Weber brothers
All born in America, the Weber brothers were born to a German-Frenchman-American man, Thaddeus Hans Weber, and an Italian American woman, Gabriella Sienna Weber.
When the youngest two, Logan/Landon, were only a year old, their mother tragically perished, and in 4 years, their father decided to return home to his birthplace: France.
Thaddeus agrees with the Nazis in many issues…but his sons do not.
And now…about the brothers:
Ellis Jacques Weber
23 years old
Blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin
Christian
The oldest of the Weber brothers, Ellis has always seen it as his duty to protect his brothers, all of whom he dearly loves. He loves and respects his father, and has for many years, but Ellis can’t agree with his father’s political views.
He’s seen what the Nazis do…and he wants no part in it.
Vowing to protect his brothers, vowing to do everything he can to fight back, Ellis is a member within the French Resistance, working closely with Gabriel and Vivienne Garnier, the local leaders.
Ellis fears for his brothers…but he trusts God will help him protect them.
He’ll do anything for his brothers…anything.

The second oldest, Colton has always tried to look out for his older brother and his younger brothers. A natural flirt, troublemaker, and almost like the stereotypical bad boy, Colton has always been popular and always strived for the spotlight.
But what no one does know is that his striving for the spotlight…is him just striving for love.
The brother who looks the most like his beloved mother, Colton’s father can hardly look at him…and Colton has always felt overlooked and unloved ever since his mother’s death.
Unable to get his father’s love, Colton just strives for his negative attention by being the most rambunctious, troublesome young man he can be and subsequently getting into serious trouble. Drafted into the Wehrmacht, Colton begins to see war…bloodshed…death…and it takes it’s toll on him.
He just wants to go home…he just wants to be loved…he just wants someone to…be there.

One of the middle brothers, Ryder has always tried to keep his brothers unified and together. A talented writer, Ryder loves to make up and record stories, and he even dreams of being a novelist or journalist one day.
Saddened by the war around him, Ryder often uses his writing to escape…but he also tries to turn to God, knowing that only God can light up the darkness.
Sometimes trusting God is hard…but Ryder trusts in him with all of his heart…and he knows God will come through…he knows he will.
He works with Ellis in the resistance…but unlike Ellis, he trusts God with the outcome…not himself.
Arc: Flat; holds onto his faith/stand strong in the face of trials

The twin brother of Wesley, Wyatt loves all of his brothers, but he has a special connection to Wesley, the two of them being twins and all.
Gentle and compassionate, Wyatt strives to help as many people as he possibly can…and he always sees the good in people.
When he befriends a Jewish boy at school…he is angered by the Anti-Semitism of his classmates, and when his friend is suddenly in danger…he and Wesley do everything they can to save him.
And when Wyatt’s own twin is in danger…it’s suddenly a race against time.
He tries to trust God…but he’s afraid that God won’t protect his twin…same as God didn’t protect his mother.

Wyatt’s slightly younger twin brother, Wesley has always been close to Wyatt, and the two of them are inseparable. A talented musician, Wesley can play the guitar, violin, piano, and clarinet. But when he was only 10, Wesley was fatally injured.
Doctors were able to save his life…but they couldn’t save his eyesight in his left eye.
Now blind in one eye, Wesley finds schoolwork and life in general so much more difficult…and he’s been bullied unceasingly…although Wyatt is sure to give bullies black eyes if he’s around to protect Wesley.
Being blind in one eye is hard…and Wesley doesn’t see how a so-called good God could let him lose his eyesight…and the Nazis don’t want Wesley around…him being deemed as “undesirable”.
Suddenly having to be on the run, Wesley has to trust his life to people he doesn’t know and a God he doesn’t believe in.
Arc: Redemption; comes to faith in Christ and learns that God has a purpose for everything…even if he doesn’t see it

The 2nd set of twins, Logan&Landon are inseparable. Playful, silly, and sometimes troublesome, the two of them just love to have a good time.
The youngest, the two of them may be spoiled at times, but in the end, they just love their father and their brothers.
Confused by the world around them, Logan and Landon just want their family to be around and happy.
They’ve been taught, mostly by Ryder, that God is good…and the two of them hold onto that the best they can.

Haha, just checking xD. Ohh, woww 😅 That’s insane.. girl, I don’t know how you do it xD. Yeahh, that makes sense. I’ve never been to a 4-H thing before, but it was really cool! We got to see a bunch of really sweet sheep too 🥰.
Haha, yeeeeeah. It’s a lot, but it’s fun. 😂 Yup! It’s so much fun! We don’t have many sheep at our fair. 😥 Lots of horses, pigs, and rabbits though!
