It seems to have!
For
aestheticpractical reasons, I’ve decided that Wilhelm was in a back passage before. I’m guessing this is something like a statement staircase.Wilhelm
“I have never done it before. We don’t have them like this back home.” He laughed a little, despite himself. “I was going to my rooms, but I don’t mind watching for a bit. As education.”
He was rather curious how Wolfgang intended to slide on the railing. This stairwell was only partially enclosed, unlike those he was used to. It sent a wobbly feeling through his middle.
If this Wolfgang turned out to be friendly, he might invite him to his rooms for a hasty supper. He had some cheese and bread and a little weak ale. He might even dig out the flask of mead his mother had given him. If he didn’t drink it soon, it might ferment further, ruining the last taste of his childhood home. That would be tragic.
Note: Hasty Supper is the medieval midnight/late evening snack. Some of you probably know that, but just making sure. XD Wilhelm is probably hungry, he was just too overwhelmed by the dining room to eat.
Also, this is interesting worldbuilding at the moment. I’ve wanted to make non-alcoholic mead for a while. Just not sure exactly how to make it safe lol. Teatotaller nerd issues. XD I have found a recipe on a homeschooling site, just haven’t done it yet.

Ahh, interesting. I should like to try this mead.
(I am picturing that one side of the staircase has a wall running along it, and the other side has the banister with a hand rail. Possibly like this but with the banister a little higher and the staircase much longer and not really this color scheme)

“Alright, if you’d really like to watch, but you’d much rather slide it, you really would, it’s much more fun.” Turning, he galloped up the last steps. Throwing himself onto the banister, legs on either side, chest down against the smooth rail, he gave a good push. A moment later he was whizzing down the smooth slide, letting out something between a howl and a whoop. He landed on his feet at the bottom with a bang that shook the lamps in their stands. Turning, he sprinted up the curving flight ofd stairs until he spotted Wilhelm. “I love a good bang! You should try it!”
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn't hear the music
