January 8, 2025 at 10:20 am #193956It happened and people need to know. It shocks me so much when I talk to my peers and I say “Holocaust” and they ask, “what was that?”
WHAT?
How could someone forget stuff like this????
There are monuments to the horrors of living in WW2 Germany in several places where I’m from. Mind you, I’ve never been to one, but I’ve read up on a lot of what happened, and it is brutal.
Someone who has never been taught all this has been ROBBED.

January 8, 2025 at 10:28 am #193957I know!
(btw, are you just snooping on the conversation, or did you read the story section I posted?)
Man is born for the fight, to be forged and molded into a sharper, finer, stronger image of God
January 8, 2025 at 10:32 am #193958@ellette-giselle I read the story. How sad.
What makes me angry is not necessarily that it happened (although that is angering) it’s that people go out of their way to say it didn’t happen. Like what are you gonna get out of that?

January 8, 2025 at 10:36 am #193959I know!!! But think…. if people in our country school systems and government are trying to make us forget the holocaust….. doesn’t that seems scary. Like, what might they be trying to do in the future?
Okay, y’all have to see this! It is angering! This is Man On The Street. I love these, but they are SHOCKING!

January 8, 2025 at 10:49 am #193960Aw, that scene is so sad! 😥 And yeah, that is kind of creepy. One of my friends who used to live in Germany said that some people in Germany pretend like WW2 never happened–or they don’t believe it did.
Yes, as long as you’re writing, you can throw snowballs!

Which of your stories is he from?
He’s from an anthology series called the Baron Chronicles that I want to publish sometime this year if I can.

#AnduthForever (hopefully💕)January 8, 2025 at 4:45 pm #193972Okay, y’all have to see this! It is angering! This is Man On The Street. I love these, but they are SHOCKING!
Yup, it sure is…but you have to expect this to happen when people are not taught…like in schools. Even homeschooled families don’t always teach the right history either…American history is a big example.
I actually don’t know much about the Holocaust…like details and things, but always having a thirst and hunger to learn the past is the key! If people don’t want to know…they’re not going to remember…which I think is what’s happening currently.

January 9, 2025 at 3:13 pm #193996@Ellette-Giselle Okay, so it’s not the first chapter yet (that’s not moving on for some reason) but I wrote the Prologue to the WIP I was talking about.
Prologue
A secret is a terrible thing.
Aliena let the door fall closed behind her with a weary thud.
“Your wife is resting, my lord. You have a beautiful son.”
The man sat down on the edge of his desk, his shoulders slumping in relief. Aliena smiled to herself. At least here there were noble houses who could still be called families.
A secret has the power to imprison.
The man looked up at her with blue eyes shining. “I cannot thank you enough, Madame.”
The lady accepted his thanks with a straight incline of her head. “To serve with a gift is to be given the greater blessing. Or so the old sage said.”
“Ah, the old sage.” He picked up a bit of sealing wax from the desk and started aimlessly working it between his fingers. “Which reminds me of something my wife and I have wondered about since we first heard where the best midwife in the court was from. Why did you leave?”
Aliena let her gaze drift over the room, noting the rich wood paneling and large open fireplace. She almost missed those marble floors and spice hung curtains. Almost.
“I found it in my best professional interest. I’ve done well here.”
The young lord frowned and looked up from his wax. “You took a one hundred and forty league journey to another empire, which has never been on good terms with your own kingdom, simply for work? You are too good a midwife for me to believe that.”
She frowned, and said nothing.
“My wife is curious, so I will make it worth your telling. I believe the Empress has been looking for help for her daughter.”
She looked at him. Sighed.
It was an old story and easily told. She had been little more than an apprentice at the time. Her mistress hadn’t wanted it known, hadn’t wanted to defame the name of a child she had helped bring into the world.
But Aliena was tired of secrets. Tired of carrying another person’s story. Tired of letting the charade change the story she told.
A secret can set a person free.
The young noble sat on the edge of his desk long after the lady had gone, vaguely aware of the quiet scritch of quill and parchment.
At last a blonde head poked out from behind his desk, followed by a lanky, brightly clad figure.
“Do you have it?”
“Yes, my lord.”
“Good.” The nobleman pushed off his desk and reached for the sealing wax. “We must get a copy off to His Highness tonight.”
A secret has the power to kill.

January 9, 2025 at 11:43 pm #194022@keilah-h Thanks! It’s a newish WIP that my sister and I came up with last year (like that was so long ago. XD). It doesn’t have a title yet, but it’s currently Project Crowns.
