*stumbles from beneath an insurmountable snow ball*
I LIVE!
Hidden words of worlds unknown gleamed in her blade. Winifrith tuned it and watched the reflected fire dance across the ceiling. A blade of Elisai, forged in the breath of the Lighted One. Some things were too sacred for wonder to grasp.
She sheathed it home by her side.
Battle called.
@liberty There she is. My favorite self insert character. XDI think I’ll save my snowballs to ambush some unsuspecting KeePer.

December 6, 2024 at 6:34 pm #191279December 6, 2024 at 6:51 pm #191280Here are my 352 words. I just couldn’t end it at 50 since it needed to end on a good cliffhanger!
Here’s the next installment! Enjoy! *it only gets better later on*
Walking up the cobblestone pathway that led to the castle building, he quickly reached the portcullis. Upon nearing the iron gate, he spotted a lone man-sized door to the left side. Over the door hung an identical sign to the one over the stone archway.
“This must be it.”
No knocker. Another mental note.
He took hold of the and twisted. To his surprise, it swung inwards with ease. He stepped inside and swung the door behind him. The resounding clang sent a jolt through him. The resulting silence was only more foreboding.
Silence. Utter silence.
He stood in what looked like a courtyard. Snow coated cobblestones covered the floor with tall gray-brick walls bordering on three sides. It was an empty, open space except for a lone fountain in the center, but even it stood quiet and still from the winter weather.
Dale took it all in at a glance. Nothing in sight. Not a sound. Yet there was something. Up ahead, the courtyard disappeared before a set of stone steps. Seven tall pillars of marble crowned the top. Beyond the pillars was a towering door much alike to the one behind the portcullis. And to the left side was another door. A small, man-sized door.
There.
In a heartbeat, he crossed the courtyard, jumped two steps at a time, and turned the doorknob. It opened and he entered. The atmosphere that met him was far more welcoming and heartening than from the first entrance.
He stood in a large sized room filled with desks and chairs. At the far left of the room, gaping in the wall and crackling merrily, blazed the largest fire Dale had ever laid eyes on. Its licking flames filled the entire room with warmth.
Dale set his bag down on the nearest desk.
Finally, he was here. And yet…
The young man gazed over the room with a perplexed gaze.
Desks…papers…pens…chairs…fireplace. Whiteboard…books…bookshelves…door at the right end…
He paused in his inventorying. This looked exactly like the academy he’d joined. Unlike the courtyard and castle walls.
Only one thing was out of place.
“Where is everybody?”

December 6, 2024 at 7:51 pm #191281December 6, 2024 at 8:09 pm #191284Eeek, more snowballs!!
Cold, cold air,
Bites my face and toes.
Wind whirls my hair,
As the heavy snowfall grows.I trudge through the December night,
My hands grow numb.
Thoughts of warmth dance in my mind.
Body frozen 100 times over and then some.Almost home now,
I cannot feel my face.
Home in sight! Thank the Lord!
My heart beats faster as I quicken my pace.Time to pummel some unsuspecting victims…

December 6, 2024 at 8:32 pm #191288That was waaaay too soon! I just recently finished fulfilling my last ball! Don’t worry, though. I rather enjoy being hit. I get to work more on my KP story…and *in whispers* I get to throw more balls at other people and shout my war cry!!!

December 6, 2024 at 10:00 pm #191293Winifrith has come to share a lot of my own struggles just as she shares a similar background. Because of this development, she’s been in my head lately. After getting splatted by you, I mentioned doing my next defense as her. 🙂
