Okay guys, this kind of a morbid question, but has anyone seen or know about the Alien franchise? I haven’t actually seen any of the movies yet, but I know a lot about them and many of my stories are influenced by it. I also watch hilarious parodies about it…
I think I’m going to make a new topic now…
Does anyone listen to music by somebody named Lenka? I listen to one of her songs.
I feel so random and awkward.. O_OLife's a cruel joke, so you have to laugh at it sometimes.
October 5, 2017 at 8:56 am #47082@xonos-darkgrate Welcome to the dark side, Xonos. We have ice cream.
XD
Well, you might’ve guess that this isn’t the dark side. We have too many elves and unicorns for that. But anyway, welcome! Glad to have you!
Cool name, BTW.

October 5, 2017 at 8:58 am #47083@dragon-snapper. thanks.
As for elves and unicorns, I’ve seen a dark elf and a zombie unicorn so I think it’s still possible for either to be on the dark side. ANYONE can be on the dark side. Anyways, hello to you too!

https://forums.theaetherliOctober 5, 2017 at 9:24 pm #47276Hey guys, I’m working on something to submit and this is the start. Tell me what you think!
“Tell me,” the man said, “what have you to say in your defense?” The questioner looked down at a young man no older than his own son. The younger looked up, the coarse dirt of his cell moving with him. “In defense of what, Inquisitor?” His cold blue eyes showed fearless rebellion. The older man snapped back. “You know exactly in defense of what! Do not play games with me, jeune homme.” The older man bent down, hands on the knee length of his robe. He cocked his head slightly, examining the young man he was questioning. “You know…” he grinned, “I could have you put to death. The Catholic Church holds no mercy for le culte Protestant. And, as I have found out, you are a Protestant Chrétien. Are you not?” The young man holds his stare at the old man, then answers. His voice revealing his fear… And the courage that was fighting it. “I am.”

Pierre Arcès was a young man of twenty-three, but he had long since stopped the childish activities of his youth. It was hard to imagine that just four years ago he had been a man heading to enfer. He reminisced in his cell. Thinking of those days when he would be steal apples and other delicacies from the vendeurs and spend days by the lake. He and his “friends” would battle with rival gangs. He always won. Then one day, he didn’t. A large stone, as Pierre could remember, had been thrown straight at him by an unknown rival. The stone had caused his forehead to bleed profusely. Never before had he felt such shame and fear.
Then, as if sent from Heaven, a man appeared. He had cleaned Pierre’s wound and shooed the other boys away. Then, as the young Pierre began to rise, the man told Pierre something. A sentence Pierre would remember till the day he died. The kind man had said, “My son, you need le Christ.” Pierre turns around with surprising speed for a recuperating man. Pierre, for the first time, studied his saver. Just a man, no different from his father really. The only difference was that instead of a bottle, the man held a book. Pierre pointed to it crudely, “What is that?” The man smiled and lifted the book so that Pierre could view it. He then said, “This, my son, is a Bible.” From then on, Pierre never regretted asking that one question.

Well, that’s all I wrote at this point. (I’m saving the title as a surprise.. 😉 )

October 6, 2017 at 9:18 am #47288I have a question. You often see “limits
to words/letters. I saw that the maximum amount of 4,000 words for short stories. How can I tell if my story exceeds the limit or is too small? Is there some type of feature I can use? Other than that, I really have no idea what number of words I have. I use OneNote.Life's a cruel joke, so you have to laugh at it sometimes.
October 6, 2017 at 9:25 am #47289@xonos-darkgrate Google it. Almost all word softwares have a word count feature.
