@highscribeofaetherium actually….it’s a very popular one.
I didn’t even finish watching everything about the original cuz I was like “umm yea I’m just gonna turn this off 😅”
I guess it’s alright to say, just be careful researching it.
It’s sleeping beauty.

Let’s stick with the Grimm version, shall we? 😅😂

Thats why I just said to be careful researching fairytales…
Plus some are really dark and for some ppl thats not so fun. Depends on the person.

too cliche (most of the time…there are exceptions 😉) and too many “happily ever afters” that aren’t at all realistic XXD
but everyone has their own opinion, and I respect that 💜

Well, they did define cliches in the first place… so back then, they weren’t cliche 😂😂
I do agree though kinda, in that I personally don’t read a lot of retellings (although there are good ones and this Rapunzel retelling would be fun!!).
But there are also a lot of sad fairy tales too, you know..Have you ever read the original Little Mermaid? Little Match Girl? Steadfast Tin Soldier? They’re some of my favorites.

August 3, 2023 at 1:27 pm #152861Oh oh oh speaking of Sleeping Beauty, here’s a more spellbinding one. Have you ever heard of Rosalina Lombardo, the most beautiful mummy? (Totally not a tangent 😂)
You can look up pictures of her, because she’s adorable. She died when she was almost two years old, from the Spanish flu, back in 1920… Poor thing… Then her father had her preserved. She’s known as the Sleeping Beauty of the Capuchin Catacombs… 😍

WOW!!!! Crazy! She’s also known as the “Blinking mummy”
Because wether by optical illusion or change in temperature, many people, and in photos, it was seen that her “Eyelids would blink open.”

And to all the people saying ‘the endings are so unrealistic’ and stuff, it’s because they’re metaphors for the gospel story. I’m not going to completely go off on a tangent, so I won’t say anything more, but, yeah.
(also, as a side note, @whalekeeper, technically there is no such thing as a tragic fairy tale. Fairy tales are, by definition, comedies)
