HEYOOO!! I have written some more!!
SOO!! I decided to begin my first scene/chapter a bit differently
AKA the way I WANT to, because I had absolutely NO motivation to write it, and so I needed to find something that made me want to write it, and so I decided to start it the way I WANTED to!
So this is how it is actually beginning!

Avoidance Is Bliss-Arabell
And it was, in the seventh hundred and eighth year, that Eder, Guardian of Light, Holder of All That Is Pure, was cast into the void. Having wrought great darkness throughout the land, spreading his vile deceit far and wide. Having turned the hearts of man and creature alike, leaving the world in disarray.
War and famine did abound, caused by the wickedness of the once pure Guardian, and the feeble-minded hearts of man he had swayed. Blood and tears filled the streets, and in sorrow, the Maker looked on at His creation.
The world teemed with a hideous smog; a black ink that had blotted out all light. This beautiful land he had built. The people, creatures, races and creeds He had created to inhabit the world had turned away from their purpose. They had fallen. Fallen into the snare that Eder, the Guardian of Light, Holder of All That Is Pure had set for them.
The mountains quaked in fury and heat rose from the depths of the sea as the earth mourned to it’s Maker, for the innocents that had perished. Lives lost, for reasons too trivial for any to understand. The wailing of mothers without their children. Children without their fathers.
The cries of animals in the wilderness, separated now from humankind and races above them. Lorded over. Slaughtered for gain and left to rot.
And those few.
Those small few who remained.
Unblemished. Untarnished.
Those who held fast to what had been before, from the creation of time. Who held to the Maker and His ways, ignoring Eder’s tricks. His light tricks and grandeur.
What of them?
What of their tears? Their prayers?
Had they been forgotten?
Had the Maker…the True Light finally left them?
Was this world no longer good enough, for Him to remain? Had He repented of them?
They wept, falling to the ground before their Maker; broken, bloody, and beaten. The scars upon their skin told tales of pain and anguish, but they were nothing in comparison to the hurt within their hearts. Oh, that the Maker would restore them! That The Light would return! But their prayers seemed to fall upon deaf ears.
One boy stood to his feet, “Why do we wait here? Let us go and the Light will surely lead us!”
“Sit down, child. Don’t you see? There is no Light,” an older man snapped, face aged by scars. “He has abandoned us.” An audible gasp rippled through the room, but everyone else had been thinking it.
The boy’s eyes flared with determination, his hand closing around the cracked hilt of a sword on his belt. “Perhaps there isn’t any Light for you, but I see plenty. Stay here if you wish, but I refuse to give in so easily.” He walked to the foot of the cave, ignoring the protests of those around him, screaming his name.
“You’re just a boy! You’ll be killed on sight!” An older woman screamed, gripping a child in her bosom. She grabbed the lad’s hand, but he just looked at her, a faint sadness in his eyes.
“Then so be it,” he nodded, gently pulling free.
“You’re more foolish then I thought, boy. That’s the same attitude that killed your father.”
The boy frowned, but shook his head. “No. Eder killed my father, and now, He’s safe in the Light’s arms. And if I die, I will be too.” He turned back to the darkness of the cavern, only for a small voice to stop him.
“May…May we join you…?”
Another gasp rippled through the crowd.
The boy looked back. Smiled. He knew the young girl well, along with the other children that followed her around. They’d all lost someone.
“It will be dangerous,” He said.
“I’m not afraid,” she replied, her hazel eyes glowing in the firelight.
“We may not return.”
“I don’t want to return. This place has done nothing for me. If we stay here we’ll die for sure.”
He chuckled at that and motioned for her and the other kids to follow him. None of the adults made any move to join, though they continued to shout protests.
“Ask the Light how He’s doing when you see’im!” The man with the scars yelled as the boy left the cave, the other trailing behind.
He never looked back.

#ProtectSebI was actually writing this and thought of the story of the the lepers in the Bible during a famine who said “Why sir we here till we die?” And in the end brought restoration to God’s people

Kind of sidetracking, but it’s so funny that I thought at first your story was a cozy autumn-themed contemporary romance… XD That could not be farther from the truth.
