Yes he is! He is a character who was never going to end up in the book! 😱
So glad that my mind was changed. He’s gonna be amazing!
Yes, he’s in part 3!
Well, now that you mention it, he does have a Bonhoeffer feel to him! lol. And yes, the quote is one of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s. This fella is named Diedrich. His personality is different, but there are a few similarities for sure.
Haha! I always find it funny when I use a picture one way for one sort of feel, and then someone else uses the same picture in a totally different way.
Oh fun! I can’t wait to see them!!!

Ah, his name is slightly different.
Oh, here’s a funny thing. My family was deciding who to pick for our family’s “hero of faith”, and we went with Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Mama was asking, “How do you spell his first name?” Mama is Japanese, so even though she’s lived in the states for many years, she still has some trouble with spelling, pronunciation, and communication.
Well, my older sister said, “It’s really easy. Dietrich. Diet and rich. Just write diet and rich together, and you have Dietrich.”
We all thought that was such a funny and clever way to remember how to spell his name correctly. Of course, you don’t say his name as diet-rich, but the spelling is the exact same!
Oh fun! I can’t wait to see them!!!
Yes…I actually stayed up til 11pm last night to write down a character scene with two of my guys…I know…I woke up really late, but I wanted to write that scene down before I forgot it! Does that happen to you?
Several times, I was going to get ready to go to bed, and all of a sudden this amazing scene with superb dialogue comes to me, and I have to write it down before it slips my brain!!! I’m thinking of writing a small scene for each of the characters that I release a mood board for. That’s so you can kind of get to know them more.
It’s so funny! I saw that you have a guy named Darrien in your wip…and my mc in my wip is named Darien! It’s just one less “r”! He goes by another name too…so he’s not called Darien that much in the main part of the story.

February 1, 2025 at 8:12 am #196626Oh man, that is such a funny way to remember!!! Haha!
I do most of my planning at night in bed in the pitch dark. Then I can capture scenes and dialogue, file it away in my mind, go to sleep, wake up, pull it out, and write it all down. lol. So yes I come up with great ideas at night. No, I don’t write them down.
Oh this is going to be so cool! I can’t wait to see them!
Yes! Darrien (and any other spelling of said name) is a great name!

Ok… You know that one character? The one who is disturbingly realistic? If I make a thread sometime later this month about handling dark topics in a God glorifying way, this is why.
Meet Letice, Alwin’s mother. I love her, but I heard her story years ago and still don’t know what to do with it.

11 pm is late? Gracious, I must be an insomniac or something. I’m doing good to be down by 12. Now my usual get up time is between 7:00 – 8:00 depending on the day, so I suppose if you’re an early riser it makes sense.
I mean, I’ve stayed up till past 2 am (or 4) a few times to finish a book (not the best mornings I’ve ever had, but these are the sacrifices we make for characters we love).
But no, I have a family of night owls.

Ooh pretty, and I like the name Letice. It’s very unique.

I’ve decided not to be a night owl anymore. (And I am the notorious night owl of my family.) Right now I drift off at 11, and wake up at 6:30. I would love to shift that to 10 and 5:30, but it takes a little time to make a habit. I totally recommend it, but then again I know super smart people who consistently stay up past midnight.

February 2, 2025 at 4:33 pm #196753I would like to not be a night owl. It just seems to always happen.
But no, I should try at least to go to bed at a earlier time.

I honestly don’t know who are Narnia nerds în here. Most of us have fond memories for the series. Anyone love Susan? Lucy and Peter were always my favorite, but I still loved the others. Anyone read The Last Battle and cry? *cough, cough*
According to C. S. Lewis, Susan does return to Aslan, but it’s not an easy path. He never wrote her story because it would be too serious and grown up a book for the Chronicles of Narnia. But he did say she was a lot like him, an atheist in his youth who found God again in his young adult years. So I was thinking…
