Thanks. XD I usually can’t find photos to express my thoughts, but I’ve found a new adorable specimen of bat kind,(aka little Italian puffs of fluffy afros that wander the Mediterranean) and it’s just a joy to look them up. They’re so expressive. Hoping to see one when I go to Europe some day.
I am incredibly relieved you ate. As much as I can do the same thing, I try not to. It’s a waste of good fasting to do it accidentally.

-feral parrots (a lot of ‘em, funny green ones with a black ring on the neck)
-interesting crows with gray and black bodies
-one European Robin (My brother was super excited cause there’s a meme in one of our fandoms that involves them, and now he’s seen one in real life)
-a ton of pigeons
-a sparrow that my mom’s friend fed some pizza crust (he came right up to her and snatched a little crumb away, it was so funny)
-chicken-sized sea gulls who cackle on the Roman ruins

November 7, 2025 at 10:08 am #208268@elishavet-pidyon What are they actually doing with the bats btw? Just catching them? Or trying to like give them medicine or something.

November 7, 2025 at 10:29 am #208269Really? That is so awesome!!! We’ll be traveling in East Europe in a few months, but I would love to see Italy some day. Are you enjoying it? I think I remember you going there a few years ago. Was that a similar location to where you are now, or are you seeing new things?
Those are some interesting animals to be sure. ? Those birds either sound adorable or demented.
I have no idea what those people are doing to the little batties. I sincerely hope they’re not hurting them, but photos of people handling bats are very common on the Internet. And unfortunately, too few of them wear gloves. *Nervous laughter* It’s not that the bat can do much to hurt you, but the minimal risk of zoological diseases like rabies becomes not so minimal. But no. I don’t know what they’re doing. Maybe tagging them? Or trying to rescue them? There are groups that do that, and the Pipistrelle kinds are endangered in some areas. Makes sense, but I’m being optimistic. Whatever it is, the little fellows certainly don’t like getting handled by collosal giants.
