February 23, 2025 at 7:44 pm #198357(where this super cool person is wearing a mask and then they remove their mask and its a GIRL ๐ฎ nothing against girls being cool, just the trope is over used and I am more surprised when it turns out to be a male rather than a female.)
My least favorite part about this trope is the girl almost always has eyeliner on. Or they’re wearing clothes that you know a woman’s figure is under there. It ruins the surprise for me.

February 26, 2025 at 9:40 am #198511I love both of those memes!!! XD
the first one is unfortunately true for me!
(Also sorry if this seems random, but how are the drawings coming along?! Sorry, I am just too excited!!!! And again, if you have not stared/do not wish to draw carrot cake, than that is 100% fine ๐)

February 26, 2025 at 9:45 am #198512idk why it’s unfortunate that the first is true for you! It’s true for me too! ๐
The drawings are coming along. I started all three last night. I threw away the one for theducktator because she didn’t turn out the way i wanted her to, so I’ll have to start over. I finished Hybridlore’s, and Carrot Cake is almost done. I like everything about her except for the face. If I can’t fix the face I may have to start over. But yeah, it’s coming. I should have had them all done yesterday but I’m trying to catch up on a bunch of stuff, and I’m currently sick so that doesn’t help. ๐

idk why itโs unfortunate that the first is true for you! Itโs true for me too! ๐

February 26, 2025 at 1:25 pm #198555@ellette-giselle lol those memes are great!!
Movies are pretty much never better than the book, but I can think of a few movies which were almost as good.

February 26, 2025 at 4:01 pm #198575Not true! It is like 95% of the time the movie is worse than the book, but here are two examples of the movie being better:
The Princess bride,
And Jurassic Park.

February 26, 2025 at 4:16 pm #198577@the_lost-journal Iโve never read the original Jurassic Park but Iโve heard the movie cut some of the worst parts, so Iโd be inclined to agree with you.
I was thinking of this movie calledย Flora and Ulysses, about a girl who rescues an injured squirrel only to find he has superpowers (i know, that sounds lame, but it was funny). The book is decent, but personally I think the movie actually tied the plot together better.

February 27, 2025 at 12:03 am #198589I’d say The Princess Bride was a tie.
Jurassic Park is a book?
To err is human; to arr is pirate.
February 27, 2025 at 7:32 am #198591interesting, I’ll check it out! And yeah, the original jurassic park was a billion times darker! they killed a baby and a ton of different children in that one! in the movie, no kids die! plus the characters have morals! (in the book they are a bunch of self centered jerks who would probably push a child towards a raptor to escape….)
@theducktator
debatable. and yes, Jurassic park was first a graphic novel!"There is never nothing, always something " - ME ๐

How To Train Your Dragon, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and maybe Duneย are all better than the books.

Never read the HTYD books because someone told me not to and just stick with the movies.
Never read Princess Bride but I really want to!
There are two movies that were better than the book that I can think of off the top of my head……. but I forgot the second. XD
The biggest one in my opinion is War Horse. Really cool idea of WWI being told from the prospective or a horse, but they gave the horse horse limits. So it didn’t have human understanding and the author tried to explain everything the way a horse would, and it was rather confusing and frustrating. The Movie, however, is really good because you just see everything so no explanation is necessary!
