A flame has been relit in my soul. I think I can confidently say that DiCamillo was one of the top influential authors in my childhood, and if you haven’t read some of her stories, you should. Her books have won many awards, and have a distinctly melancholy voice. Her most popular books are probably Tale of Despereaux, Flora & Ulysses, and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.
If anyone wants to discuss her books, this is the place.

I love that book, one of my favorites when I read it. Never read the other ones though. Have you read it and which of her books have you read?

December 30, 2024 at 9:42 pm #193231Yaayyy!! Yes, I have!! And I’ve read most of her books, I think. It’s been a long time, but the memories just suddenly flooded back into my mind this evening. Flora & Ulysses has got to be her strangest book. XD

Flora & Ulysses. The book that looked like it would be a comic book, but then got ruined because IT HAS JUST PLAIN WORDS IN PARTS!!! ๐ค ๐

That does in fact look like a quality book. ๐ง But nevertheless, this topic is designated for the boring books.

December 30, 2024 at 10:36 pm #193240๐คฃ Boring books!? Kate DiCamillo wrote the Mercy Watson series! ๐
I will admit that I have seen several of Dicamillo’s book that caught my interest while browsing, but their descriptions seemed kinda pain filled, and I’m not particularly interested in more woe in my life.
Have you read Beverly, Right Here, Louisiana’s Way Home, or Raymie Nightingale? They have interestingly done covers.

December 30, 2024 at 10:37 pm #193241We watched that movie so many times, I… Well, I don’t know how to finish that sentence because I can’t recite the movie or anything, but we watched it a lot. XD

Mercy Watson,ย I agree, is not boring.

This is true. This is very, very, very true.
Have you read Beverly, Right Here, Louisianaโs Way Home, or Raymie Nightingale?
I think I read one of those? I was in my ebook discovery phase at the time, and I don’t remember a lot of my reads from that phase.
