@emma-flournoy Well it’s kinda a mix between historical fiction and uhhh…. I’m not really sure what. Cause it’s definitely not all historically accurate. It’s set in about 1498, I think. Sometime nearing the end of the Renaissance. Yes siblings are awesome!!!

May 28, 2016 at 9:14 pm #13454You do whatever you want, Emma, but nothing could be sillier in my eyes than naming a musical instrument after someone like Thaine. 😛 😉
May 28, 2016 at 9:17 pm #13457Okey-doke. Sounds interesting!
Yes. I know what it was like. It was just as wonderful in the movie as well, with the added benefit of sad music!
You should read TLotR. Seriously.
Well, good! I like books worth the read!I know. I won’t.
May 28, 2016 at 10:39 pm #13484@bluejay, ah, a fellow John Flanagan fan? 😉 I LOVE the Ranger’s Apprentice. I’ve never heard of Brotherband though. I will have to check that out…
@Emma-Flournoy, The Door Within is one of my favorites! It’s a really cool Christian allegory. 🙂 Here’s the description:Three ancient scrolls beckon high school student Aidan Thomas to enter a realm of knights, kings, and unusual creatures, but he must rely on instinct and his latent athletic ability to deal with the terror, tempest, and treason offered by this new world.
May 29, 2016 at 8:47 am #13488Oh, that sounds really neat!
Thanks for the recommendation!May 30, 2016 at 2:28 am #13509A thousand welcomes, Emma Flournoy! It’s such an honor to meet Kate’s sister. 🙂 You beat me to it, but I’ll say it anyway- welcome to the bestiest place on the Internet!!!
Wait…
@Daeus – is it bestiest or bestistest?May 30, 2016 at 8:33 am #13511bestistest

May 30, 2016 at 11:35 am #13514Thanks!
Good to meet you too. 🙂May 30, 2016 at 12:22 pm #13515Hey Kate, no one got the quote at the end of my first post on this thread. (How do you do a frowny face emoji?)
So you can elucidate, if you like. 😉But @bluejay, you should have gotten that quote, considering what you’ve been reading recently! Look again and see if you can’t recognize it; at the end of my introductory post.
And I guess you should wait till her next post to elucidate, Kate. 😉

Welcome @emma-flournoy! I guess we should take it as a real compliment that you followed the forum even though you aren’t a writer. 🙂 Or maybe we are just REALLY weird…
May 30, 2016 at 2:37 pm #13521Thanks @jadamae!
Well even though I don’t write stories, I believe I like them (and dissecting them 😉 ) every bit as much as a real writer. 🙂
And depending on your definition of weird, I like weird people too. @kate-flournoy considers herself weird, and in case you hadn’t noticed, I like her. 😛

@Emma-flournoy Do you enjoy beta-reading? Do you think you would like to be a content editor?
May 30, 2016 at 3:54 pm #13530@jadamae
Oh yes, I enjoy beta-reading very much.
A content editor—what’s the difference between that and beta-reading? 🙂

@Emma-Flournoy To my knowledge, it is just a more-prestigious title for a paid beta-reader. 🙂
May 30, 2016 at 5:27 pm #13532Sorry @emma-flournoy. Just woken up. *yawn* And yes I did know where the quote came from, but when I logged in I forgot to say. *Me and my great memory* Anyway it comes from the Hobbit and to be more precise it is when Beorn meets the dwarves and Gandalf. 🙂 Am I right?
