@maryg3 right?  I think you’re the third I’ve met on this forum so far!  It’s a rather rare hobby imo, especially among our generation.  I’ve heard that more and more young people are getting into burds, so that’s really exciting.  Honestly, I love owls.  They’re just so cute and fluffy!  I think I also like them because they’re hard to find, so it feels really good when I see one.  I also really like sandhill cranes 🙂 what’s your favorite bird?  What’s your current wip about?  I’ve been writing since I was a kid.  And thank you!  I really like character design 🙂  do you do art?  How long have you been writing for?  Honestly, I think I would just like regular snow.  It would be really weird if anything else fell from the sky.  When I was little, we got little hailstones that looked exactly like little white chocolate chips, and I ate one thinking it would be chocolate.  I was old enough to know better.  What about you?

@calidris Oof yeah I bet XD It is kinda cool tho. I mean, they’re pretty much defenseless in every other way… Might as well use what you have XD

The hair on the frogs is a bit disturbing XD I think it’s…..unique…..that they can protect themselves like that…..but it is scary XD It reminds me of a cheesy 1970s horror movie XD

Haha thank you, my brother named him XD Tbh, I didn’t know they ate snakes either until Snake Biter came along XD He was fairly young still too! Hahaha yeah they are!! I love when they’re babies the best *cough* but who doesn’t *cough* they’re just so cutee!

Oh cool!! I wear a lot of the same colors, but usually with some blue or pastel yellow.

My hair is curly, so shadows can make it look like a medium brown. But if I straighten it, it’s a dark blonde. Honestly, we probably have pretty similar colors XD That would be the hard part about dying mine. The colors I like wouldn’t fit that well I think :/ Idk, I may do it some day just to see XD

@it’s definitely…unique lol.  But it’s still super cool in it’s own way 🙂

I love yellow, but it doesnt really work with my skin tone so I’ve been working it into my accessories.  Right now, I have some yellow gingham shoelaces, and I’ve actually found a way to make them work with my outfits 🙂  I’ll probably switch them out to brown checks once fall comes around

That’s honestly one of the things that’s kept me from dying mine.  I’m not willing to spend a lot of time on upkeep, so I would have to find something that looks decent when growing out.   I’m also not willing to constantly bleach my hair, so I think that hair dye isnt for me lol.  What would be cool though is to get some wigs, then you could wear a fun color, then go back the very same day!

@Calidris The Mandalorian is really great. (it’s my dad’s favorite show.) So is The Bad Batch, but that one is so new I’m guessing not many people know about it (they only just finished the first season). The story does get a little slow in the middle of the show, but I think it’s to get you more acquainted with the characters.

Keeper of the Lost Cities is pretty cool. I’m WAITING for the ninth book, because every book since the third has had a MASSIVE cliffhanger…..KOTLC will be on my Christmas list for as long as the series is going. (The books tend to come out in November, so that’s why.) And The Wingfeather Saga is absolutely amazing, but the author purposefully left the ending open so you will always wonder what happens next. It’s also written by a Christian author, so it has great themes but it’s not preachy at all.

@keilah-h  i think I saw an ad for the bad batch, but that’s all i really know about it.  I don’t think it has the advantage of an insanely cute baby yoda (his real name is grogu, right?) for publicity lol.

That’s really cool about the wingfeather saga.  I think that the most effective christian works aren’t the ones that preach about, but the ones that are subtle enough to really make you think.  And I’ve heard very good things about keeper if the lost cities 🙂

Here’s a question for you: who’s your all time least favorite character?

@calidris Yeah, there’s no Grogu-type character in  The Bad Batch. The characters are plain awesome but not necessarily cute. And yes, I agree with what you said about the Wingfeather Saga. It’s great.

My least favorite character? Ever? I don’t know. I really don’t like Ashfur from the Warriors series, but there are others. Dyson (from the Tron TV show)….and Rampart (from The Bad Batch) …..and Vespera (from Keeper of the Lost Cities)…..Those four are all villains, by the way. They are all just outright evil (twisted, even, in Ashfur’s case) and really get on my nerves. I don’t know why, to tell you the truth. And I can’t think of any “good guys” I can’t stand, but I’m pretty sure there’ll be one someday.

@keilah-h see, for me my least favorite characters aren’t the ones that are outright villains, but the ones that are just irritating.  I don’t really know how to explain it lol.  My least favorite Tolkien character is probably Finwë from the Silmarillion.  He’s not a villain, he’s not even an antagonist, he’s just incredibly immature and petty and completely unsuited for his role as king (which also leads to his eventual murder but that’s a completely different rabbit hole lol).  Also, I just really dislike Toru Oikawa from Haikyuu.  I think he’s the first antagonist I ever truly despised.  I’m not alone – he’s the most hated character in the fandom lol.  I say antagonist because it’s a sports anime – there’s no real villain so far because they’re just competing against other schools, but he’s inspired more rage on my part than any of the much more genuinely awful villains I’ve come across lol

@calidris I get it. That’s how it was with Rampart–there wasn’t anything specific that he did or anything that made me dislike him, it was….I don’t know….maybe my brain saw arrogance under the surface? But in any case, he was just plain annoying, even if there wasn’t a reason to hate him over, say, Tarkin, who was actually a worse villain. I just kinda want to put a bullet through his head, (and I rarely want characters to be killed if I can help it). Funny story, I actually said that after watching the show one Friday, and my mom was like “yikes, don’t give Keilah a gun then.”

@keilah-h i think you’re on to something there.  I think that arrofant characters are much more hateable than humble characters.  I think it all depends, though.  I’ve come across characters that have pride as their major character flaw and downfall who I’ve really liked (looking at you, Fëanor).  Oikawa on the other hand…I could rant about this guy for ages lol

@calidris sorry for being so late in responding. I’ve been very busy lately XD Haven’t had time to do much on social media.

Anyhow, I totally agree with Mandos; Feanor had it coming to him. He was stubborn and proud. Yeah, Finwe definitely had different priorities.

Yeah, Aule and Yavanna are great. Yessss the argument was very funny XD

my book? It’s a fantasy series that spans many years and it’s the adventures of a young woman and her brother, and others as well after that. I’ll tag you on my beta reader topic so you can find out more because right now my words fail me XDD

                              @calidris

Ah, Gandalf, the White Rider… A wonderful choice!

My favorite book character is, hands down, Danek Crevilon from The Trimont Trilogy. The books themselves aren’t my favorite, but the author created the only character who has ever managed to nearly give me an emotional breakdown. 😉

My favorite WIP? Hmm… Well, in all honesty, my favorite WIP is one I have not started yet. It’ll, Lord willing, be a trilogy about Simon Peter. I CANNOT wait to start it, but I have a TON of research to do before I can. As for my current WIPs, I guess my favorite is either the fantasy or the contemporary romance. The romance is a retelling of three of Jane Austen’s novels that I’m writing with a friend, and the fantasy is… complicated. I have trouble summarizing it. *facepalm* I’m writing it with one of my cousins. Going to try to make a teaser…

Duxus Aledrick has a normal life. A father and sister, friends and family, a promising future and comfortable present. His arch-enemy, Creare Nomis, is the only thing that is keeping his near perfect life from achieving perfection.

But all of that changes. And changes quickly.

Threats arise from every side in the form of dragons, enemies, traitors, and a mysterious evil that haunts Noctis island. In the blink of an eye, Duxus finds himself thrown into a desperate quest to try to save not only the lives of those he loves most, but the future of his entire tribe.

So, yeah. That’s kind of an introduction to Falling. 🙂

@lydia-s i have never heard of the trimont trilogy.  I’ll have to look into it!  I actually didn’t know about historical fiction based on the Bible until I joined Kingdom Pen, either.  And I absolutely understand having a difficult time summarizing a fantasy wip lol.  They tend to be very complicated as well as difficult to explain.  All of your ideas sounds really fun 🙂
