I like writing poetry, short stories, novels, essays about topics like how spiders are beneficial (I did that once in English and that weekend my sisters and I spent ten minutes screaming about a spider in our bedroom) etc, etc, you know the drill.

Yes!! You literally can’t find one that doesn’t end up having some weird supernatural scene. Same goes for secular YA novels in terms of the explicit scenes, they’re literally in every single one.

Like I see everywhere that being the oldest sister is like a ton of work and by the end you have mental health issues and then struggle for the rest of your life but I mean you published a book so clearly you’re proving them wrong

Honestly I think a lot of older siblings struggle, because you are the first child that your parents ever well…parent…lol so you were parented differently than your other siblings. In a way, you’re like the guinea pig XD XD
Idk, being the oldest is just kinda a unique experience lol!
@ellette-giselle and @anyone-elseI used to really want an older brother (honestly I think everybody no matter who they are wants one)…and I figured out why!
In the Bible, in Hebrews 2:11, it says:
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
Because us (Christians) and Jesus have the same father–GOD!–and Jesus has made us holy…He calls us His brothers and sisters!
So I think one of the reasons people want a brother is because without Jesus, we have an empty older-brother spot in our hearts, but now that we’re in the family of God, we have literally the coolest brother ever, who died for us!!! It’s actually such a blessing 💜

I kind of already knew He was technically our brother, but part of me wasn’t sure if He wanted us to consider Him as an older brother…idk, I wasn’t sure if it was respectful or not.
And then one day I found that verse in Hebrews and I was like
WHAAAAAA?!?!?
And everything made sense lol!
Like Jesus loves us so much and He wants nothing more than to adopt us as His little sisters….it paints a beautiful picture in my mind.

yeah that totally makes sense and I kind of see that a little bit in a lot of the families I know
like the oldest is usually more protected and stuff but also has more strict rules

Yeah, it’s really frustrating. That’s why we need Christian writers to write genuinely good books without all the fluff the world shoehorns in.
By the way, I forgot to mention that your WIP sounds really interesting, I would also read a book like that.
