January 16, 2025 at 9:33 pm #194820May I ask why?
Sure! We do church from home because God called us away from our last one. There were several unbiblical things going on in the last one that my family doesn’t agree with (issues I that haven’t really ask my parents enough about or remember well). So until God leads us to a new church, we are growing in him from home.
It’s just our family.
I should probably mention that we do watch a few different churches online, so we’re not fully alone—dare I say. But we do do it as just a family sometimes. 😅
If you stay at home for mass, what do you do? How does it work? Who leads the mass? I am so interested!
Communion? We don’t celebrate it as mass so… 😅 But we do it like regular churches do. My dad’s side leads our communion, he or my brother read the verses in the Bible where Jesus commands us to take the bread and wine, and we think about Him and His great sacrifice as we take it. How He came to the world and gave His only son that we might be saved. Then we pray and kinda continue with the day…

January 16, 2025 at 9:39 pm #194822Cool! So it’s fairly similar to how my church does it! (except we are a lot bigger and your with a bunch of strangers LOL!)
Do you have multiple readings? Or just one? Also, how often do you have communion? I ask this because you say your dad’s side… (Sorry if I miss understood or interpreted something wrong!)

Mmm… one reading… Multiple times a year, but only once in the day we do it. Am I understanding this weird/wrong? 😅
(btw, sorry if my answers are slow—I’m typing from my phone 😓🫤😬)

January 16, 2025 at 10:17 pm #1948281. What is your denomination?
I’m a Calvinist/ Reformed Evangelical
2. Did you grow up with this denomination?
Yes :]
3. How many books are in your bible? And if you wish, what are those books?
66 books
4. How many people in your family are that denomination? (If any are a separate denomination, or religion)
My whole immediate family believe the same things as me. My extended family is also mostly christian, and are a mix of lutheran, non-denominational, and a few catholics.
5. There are two sacraments: communion and baptism.
6. God is our head. It is good to have a few people you look up to for wisdom, but I think having one person in charge of a whole denomination can cause problems pretty easily.
7. This answer would probably change every time I am asked, but King David probably. I try to read through the psalms whenever im going through hard stuff.
8. My dad used to lead psalm sing once a month at our church and he’s started to pick it up again recently too. Our congregation as a whole has a general understanding of how to read music and we sing in four parts. I believe that singing is such an important part of worship and being able to get together and sing once a month is so uplifting and I think important for my church’s community.
Idk if that counts as a tradition. We also have the best brunch on Easter together. And dances for both Pentacost and Christmas.

January 16, 2025 at 10:31 pm #194829What is your denomination?
I go to an Evangelical Church (it’s called Faith Alliance Church, and we’re part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance!)
Did you grow up with this denomination? Are you still growing up with it?Or did you convert to it yourself?
I grew up with it, but it’s always felt like home, so I would say I “chose” to convert to it since I really love my church <3
How many books are in your bible? And if you wish, what are those books?
66!
How many people in your family are that denomination? (If any are a separate denomination, or religion)
My whole immediate family is Evangelical, my grandparents on my Dad’s side are Evangelical (they used to be Lutheran though, and so did my Dad), and my Mom’s side of the family is Pentecostal. My Mom used to be Pentecostal, but she switched to Evangelical when she moved here and married my Dad, because she really liked the church my Dad was going to.
How many sacraments do you have? (If any…again, I am not sure if there is a denomination with zero sacraments)
I have no idea what sacraments are XD
wait jk, I just looked it up.Our church does communion once every other month!!! And we have baptisms sometimes, but they’re not required and we don’t baptize babies. If you want to be baptized, you ask the pastor and they schedule it for a Sunday!
Who is the head of your denomination? (i.e. The pope for Catholics.)
JESUS CHRIST <3333 I love Jesus so muchhhhh <3
Who is your favorite hero from the Bible? (Can’t be Jesus. But he should be all of ours.)
I love how God uses broken people to carry out His will. Everyone he chose wasn’t qualified in the least, they were just like us and ordinary, but He used them anyway. The Bible is a love story between us and God and everything in it proves that <3
And finally, what is your favorite tradition from your religion? (It could be a family christian tradition, or a church tradition Example: Whenever my family hears a siren we pray a Hail Mary.)
We don’t really have traditions….
But fun fact: whenever my Grandpa (on my Mom’s side) hears a train, he says “Praise the Lord!” (it’s a long story, but it’s a good one)
Honestly, I don’t really think of Jesus as a religion.
I don’t have a religion. I have a relationship with Jesus Christ my Savior! I believe the Bible is true, and I believe only what the Bible says. If that makes sense.

😆 Yep
What about the word religion do you not like? By definition, belief in Jesus Christ or any other god is religious. But if there’s some bad connotation attached to the word that I’m not aware of, then that’s understandable.
