I have been writing my book a ton more lately and have been figuring out ” Wow, I need a lot more characters.”
Not just ones that have big parts, but the extras also. The ones standing behind, helping the story come alive. A lady standing in the front of the store holding her baby, she smiles at everyone who passes. Or an old man who chases pigeons out of the park. Every character in your WIP benefits the story in one way or another. I just love that!
This topic can be for anyone who wants to share their characters , big and small. (I know we already have one like this but a new one might be nice 🙂
Here is my newest character that stand off to the side a bit or only appear in a few scenes.
#1- There is a middle aged woman on the freeway after all the power goes out, she has the brightest turquoise eyes and is crying. She is worried about her husband who is in the hospital. My main character goes over to comfort her, which leads to the whole group of kids to comfort all the people who are stranded on the freeway.
And here is my other character that will appear in most scenes throughout the book!
Victoria. A. Chilton. Victoria is an orphan, traveling with her uncle to visit her grandparents. When the power goes out, the plane she is taking crashes. That is how she meets up with my main character. She had bronze skin, short dark black hair and blue eyes.
Thats all I have right now, I’ll post more when I come up with more 😀

There are thirty-two lords in my WIP’s government… and I would rather know them than not. As long as I know a little bit about each, so I can make up consistent plot points and stuff, I’m good. (Can you tell I’m into epic fantasy right now?) 😂

I would skip it too, to be honest 😂 But I want to be a bit more certain of my worldbuilding with this story, and even though it isn’t necessary, it makes me feel better and it’s fun to make up.
Besides, who knows? Maybe this list of backstories will prompt something.
And it isn’t too hard, actually 😋 I’m just writing sentence-long ideas for characters. I’m already 22 ideas in.
Like:
Survived multiple assassination attempts and is viewed the luckiest guy alive
The assassin
Rags to riches
The new member everyone wants to protect
That one crazy guy who shouldn’t be into politics in the first place
…etc.
