5000 words a day! Ouch. I know I couldn’t do that. Good for you!
March 2, 2016 at 8:22 pm #9611@sarah-h It’s been hard, but not overwhelmingly so. It’s not so much that words won’t come or I don’t know what to write; I simply just don’t want to write anymore…like around halfway through. π

March 2, 2016 at 8:40 pm #9616@hope Wow! I don’t think I could do that either. Great job keeping up with it. π

I have the opposite problem! π Haha. I really want to write, but the words just wont come. For example: I put my characters in such difficult positions that even I can’t solve them. (Haha! π ) And so then I’m sitting there like “How can I fix this? How…?” and inspiration halts to a stop. Which I know that is my fault, but it can still be frustrating. π
March 3, 2016 at 7:20 am #9624Well, for a bit my climax was frustrating me. I had my characters in a situation but couldn’t figure out how to get them out without killing one. π I did in the end though, thankfully (figure it out, not kill them).

March 3, 2016 at 9:20 pm #9655Well… this looks cool. XD
Yikes @hope 5000 words? That’s pretty good. Very good, actually. Best I can handle right now is around 100 or more words XP
And is anyone else excited for Captain America: Civil War and Star Wars: Rogue One? I am, and really can’t wait π
March 3, 2016 at 9:39 pm #9658@lightningmouse Captain America, yes!!!! I’m so looking forward to that. And Star Wars too, but to a lesser degree. π

March 12, 2016 at 9:34 pm #10039Umm, what does everyone think about spending $50 on a really cool, fantasy-looking dagger? To be clear, I have not bought said dagger. But I’ve seen it a few times and my fingers are itching to wrap around the ivory handle and trace the sharp glinting blade…ok, so that’s a tad dramatic. π But, not that this is a super important question or that I’m basing my finances on the opinions of this forum (no offense, anyone) but what do you think about spending money on brooches, daggers, swords, or other things that have no practical value but are just really cool and could be used as story inspiration?

March 12, 2016 at 9:43 pm #10041@hope, it really depends on whether you’d buy anything else like that for $50. For me, usually I use image searches (think Pinterest or Bing) to find story inspiration, but then I bought a replica of a shield from the 1290s for something like $70. Will I ever wield the thing in battle? Probably not. Yet do I enjoy having the shield on my wall? Definitely. It’s like collecting stamps or arrowheads; it may not be valuable to others, but to you it is.
March 12, 2016 at 9:55 pm #10042Depends on savings and income stream. Could be a nice thing though my guess would be that it would eventually end up on a shelf somewhere. Consider that for the same amount you get about 200 people to visit your opt-in page with the draw of a free book. Assuming the opt-in page is attractive, that might register into 100ish subscribers = worth more than you invested.

March 13, 2016 at 9:33 pm #10056@Daeus your comment made me chuckle. Seriously, that is EXACTLY something my dad would say (and has said). π
@hope, I don’t think there is anything wrong with purchasing said dagger. It does depend on what kind of money you have to spend on fun things like that. For me at the stage of life I’m in now (i.e. scraping pennies off the ground to add to the college fund), I can’t afford to spend $50 without batting an eye. Not to say that I wouldn’t spend $50 on something fun, but I’d need to think about it and make sure my finances are going to balance out. As to purchasing fun things that are solely for writing inspiration, I don’t think it’s bad. Especially if it’s something as cool as a dagger. πApril 15, 2016 at 10:54 am #11230https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU7LmmyQHRc

April 15, 2016 at 12:33 pm #11249I saw a picture from it on Instagram this morning and looked it up right away. Have you seen the one with Trump, where he’s ‘talking to himself?’
