So…if you all don’t mind, I thought it would be fun to have one thread where we could just talk about random things that are too small for a thread of their own; movies, things going on, anything and everything (within reason, of course). Also, it’s an easy place to procrastinate when you should be writing or studying for mid-terms. 😀
So, to start off, has anyone seen Beyond the Mask?

September 17, 2015 at 9:16 am #5686Yes! I was actually a theatre captain. In fact, I’m wearing the t-shirt right now. What did you think of it? I could make a few complaints, but over all I thought it was fantastic. I noticed that the first time I watched it, I thought that the redemption theme was well done, but a little shoved to the back of the story. The second time I watched it however, I saw that it was clearly the main point of the story. I think its because all the dramatic effects had diminished in their power and left my brain functioning more normally. The fights were very well choreographed for a film. I thought it was a jolly good romp of a movie with its classic themes, charming over dramatization, and delectably excessive fighting, parkour, etc.

September 17, 2015 at 10:09 am #5688I saw it in theaters and then saw it again yesterday on DVD. I really liked it, though there was a slight plot hole where the bad guys replace the papers in William’s coat…it never explains how they found where he lived or how they knew the papers were there. And (picky me) he dives into the water at the beginning with his two sets of papers and somehow kept them dry. 🙂 And it was nice to watch a period movie where the girls wear modest clothes.
Christian movies are getting so much better than what they used to be. I’m really looking forward to seeing War Room when it comes to DVD.

September 17, 2015 at 10:52 am #5689I’m really looking forward to Risen. The trailer is addicting. Haven’t seen War Room yet, but I wan’t to.
Oh, yea, and the actor for Benjamin Franklin was Fabulous. He had the best lines. Probably my favorite line in the whole movie, “Oh good, nothing serious then.” Ha!
I’ve just supposed that the bag must have been waterproof, but yeah, a few things didn’t make entire sense. I thought there was some way they knew where he was staying, but I’m not sure. I’ll have to watch it again.

September 17, 2015 at 12:07 pm #5691I have not watched any of the aforementioned movies yet and only heard of one of them. But has anyone seen Grace Unplugged?

September 17, 2015 at 1:45 pm #5693@Daeus ‘Nothing serious’ indeed. 🙂 And I like how he just sits outside the tavern, waiting and tracking the time with his watch. And I looked up the Risen preview…it does look good. I’ve always loved the different retelling of ‘the centurion’.
@hannah-c No, I haven’t seen Grace Unplugged. Is it good?INTJ - Inhumane. No-feelings. Terrible. Judgment and doom on everyone.
September 17, 2015 at 2:04 pm #5694@Hope yes it was very good! My only problem was that they only had one Christian actor play in it. But I love that they had Jamie Grace in it.

September 17, 2015 at 4:44 pm #5700Oh, say, ever seen seasons of grey (not to be confused with a similar sounding title). It has the same main actor as beyond the mask. Over all, I think I liked it even better. Its a modern day version of the Joseph story, and its done really well. You really have to stop to realize how its really just a reeling of an old story because it seems so real. The MC’s friend is hilarious.

September 17, 2015 at 5:20 pm #5701That sounds really cool! I’ll have to look it up. I’m reading a book right now called The Centurians Wife That is set right after Jesus was crucified. It is so awesome. The Centurian has been sent by Pilate to see if the Judeans are planning a revolt and it really goes into detail.

I read “The Centurion’s Wife” and the rest of the series and really enjoyed them. Has anyone read the Books of the Infinite Series by R. J. Larson?
September 18, 2015 at 8:07 am #5711No, I haven’t. But they look interesting. Has anyone read the Eyes of E’veria books by Serena Chase? I love them…well, the first three books that are out, anyway.
