We started saying poor Johnny and eventually, our cousins picked it up too. 😂 I’m not sure if they know what it’s from, though

Hehe that’s a long story. Here’s the short version: Me and @theloonyone were swimming in a river one time together, and, because our imaginations go a lil crazy when we hang out, we started coming up with a river monster that lived in the river we were swimming in. We picked Johnny as a random guy to be an example of how the river monster hunts. We kept saying “poor Johnny” and it eventually evolved into a saying that we used whenever anything bad happened to anyone. Johnny and the river monster also became characters in one of our WIP’s.

Yeah, it’s nice! I love the name. I’ve also seen it meant “follower of Christ.” Too bad my character isn’t a Christian (fantasy story, I don’t include religion).

Sometimes I wish I could go back to people I knew ages ago and just ask them what about me turned them off. Like, am I too weird? Not that it matters. I’ve always had a really hard time connecting with people my age in person, it’s great here on KP though! I’ve got wonderful peoples like you!! 😊

Arien means . . . well, it’s from Quenya, the Elvish language invented by Tolkien. I’m not sure what it means, but Arien is the Maiden of the Sun. She essentially rides in the sun as it travels around the earth. 🤣Sounds like fun, right?

Thanks! I like my titles too. It took me forever to find a name for A Dream Come True, but I like it because of all the meanings it has! Like, there’s Elinor’s wish/dream in the story, and I based the story off a dream I had . . . and it was the first book I finished, which was kind of a dream come true for me . . . yeah, it’s fun!

Ah, Charrie names! I love character name meanings!

Heir of Ashes

Viktor – Champion or conquerer (latin root, Russian derivative)

Alyona – bright light or torch bearer (Greek root, Russian derivative)

Nadían – uh… I kinda made this one up, although it apparently is a Hebrew name meaning “pond”. However, in the language of my book (Eishlagair/Ayshlagair) it means “light of hope”. (Inspired from the Slavic Nadia meaning hope…. Which is also apparently an Arabic name meaning “tender girl” which kinda does fit too.)

Liora – God’s gift of light to me (Hebrew)

Eirtanian girl names have a rather glowing theme, lol.

Reúven – alternate form of Reuben, meaning “behold, a son” (Hebrew) this one is really impactful to me, because the story behind why his parents named him it: he was the first child born of their family (two brothers Amicai and Micha) that survived birth. Viktor was born soon after.

Amicai – My people are alive (Hebrew)

Kingdom of Shadows

Alwin – Noble, or Elf, friend. (Old English) I just really liked it, and the connotation of being friends with nobility – more than nobility – does fit him.

William – resolute protector (old german) fits his personality pretty well, although it’s really a bit of a relic from my initial idea for this series. (Which was really, really different. Lol!)

Winifrith – friend of peace (Old English) yeah, it fits.

Aethelthryth – Noble strength (Old English) it’s a reminder to her of where her strength is from – her King.

Percy – comes from Percival, meaning “one who pierces the valley”. …. I didn’t know that, lol! I just chose it because I liked it and it just sounded like him.

And I may add more… But this list is getting a touch long…
