K is cooler than C so it cancels out.
Oh dear. So almost dying is a regular occurrence? Whose would you say is to blame for these near deaths?
If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Saoirse: I can’t stand people who don’t keep their knives organized. Drives me crazy.
What is one thing you will never do again?
Saoirse: I will hopefully never almost destroy the world again, but aside from that, I will never ever again eat anything that is not easily identifiable as food.
If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient.
January 17, 2024 at 8:33 am #173299In my opinion, C is completely unnecessary. That’s not to say we should remove it from our alphabet, but if you were creating a new alphabet, why would you create C if it doesn’t do anything that K and S can’t already do? In response to RAE’s argument that it makes C more versatile, the problem with that is that you have to be able to tell the difference between a C that’s making a K sound and a C that’s making an S sound. Admittedly in the case of C, it’s always pretty obvious. I’m sure we can all agree that there is no reason for Q and X to exist though.

January 17, 2024 at 8:37 am #173301C is cooler than K! to prove it, look at the first letter of ‘cool’!

Yep, apparently life doesn’t mean much to me. Whose to blame? Either half of a galaxy or me. I’m gonna go with half the galaxy, it’s they who decided they wanted Rosella…but then again, I was the one who decided to protect her so…eh, I’m still going with half the galaxy.

Literally all we have to do is replace every Q with a CW or KW. That might look weird, but the only reason you never see those is because Q (pointlessly) exists.

Correction: Silvanis’s argument. I don’t believe in everything my charrie says. I would agree that C is a cooler letter (maybe just because of my big brother’s name…) but I think that if were to get rid of a c or a k, it would be c to go.

Actually, in the Realn language, they use a kw instead of q (there is no q) and no u follows it, so technically ‘Quin’ is spelled by Realn as ‘Kwin’

January 17, 2024 at 8:43 am #173310Okay, I skimmed this argument, so I thought you yourself said that.
I actually think that c would not be the one to go if we changed it now. C is way more common, and it would probably be easier to change all the Ks to Cs than to change all the Cs to Ks or Ss. If I were the person who invented this alphabet, though, I would have left C out.

📚 Appreciator of BooksJanuary 17, 2024 at 8:44 am #173311My Arvendin language also does not use Q. Or X. Or Z, Or F. (The first two are left out because they are unnecessary. The last two just because.)

Ok, Silvanis, what’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done?
