Sure. @GracieGirl upload your pic to where you can get it on ‘view image’, copy the url, then come back here, hit the img option at the top of the text box, copy the url, hit okay, name the pic, and hit okay again. Make sure your picture is compatible with the web… 😛
March 9, 2017 at 7:58 pm #27431Thanks @Kate-Flournoy! Let’s try again. Okay, last time I promise….
Please work, please work….

March 9, 2017 at 7:58 pm #27432Woops. That’s a link…
Well, it will show you the pic, so until I figure it out this’ll have to do. 😀
@Hope I’m not exactly sure who or what he’s laughing at…You’ll have to tell me. 😉 I also wasn’t sure what clothing to use so I just picked my generic ‘old-fashioned-raggamuffin-sort-of-style’ if that makes any sense. XD IF you follow the link it should show the picture just fine.- This reply was modified 7 years, 8 months ago by Gracie.

March 9, 2017 at 8:00 pm #27434@kate-flournoy Haha, don’t worry, I won’t stop using it 😉 I’d just like to be able to draw more realistically without using a photo reference and a lightbox.

March 9, 2017 at 8:09 pm #27439@GracieGirl it won’t let me follow the link… says I don’t have access on this server. That probably means you’re the only one who can follow it. :/ When the url is that long, you can be sure you’ve got a problem. Were you able to get the picture on a black page all by itself before copying the url?
March 9, 2017 at 8:11 pm #27440@kate-flournoy Well, I drew Handil, but can’t figure how to get him on here…what is a URL?

March 9, 2017 at 8:15 pm #27441@Dragon-Snapper the funky looking text in the address bar at the top of any given web page. If you’ve got the picture on your computer, upload it to google (at least that’s how I do it, using my email), right-click, hit ‘view image’ and let it go to a completely black page with the picture in the middle. Then click the url until it turns blue, copy it, then come back here, hit the img option, paste the url, etc. Not to worry; we’ve all had trouble with this particular function of the forum first starting out with it. 😛

March 9, 2017 at 8:33 pm #27450@kate-flournoy again. I’m very flattered 🙂 I’m glad you appreciate it, I just had the idea, and it looks as if I’ve found a niche! And never, I mean NEVER, be ashamed or embarrassed of your art. Even if you think it looks bad, it’s still a step stool to get better. And your Cress is simply gorgeous! I love her tattoos.
@PerfectFifths Like everything, practice is the key. You can ask @christi-eaton and @anne-swiftblade , I’m constantly drawing. I carry a sketchbook with me everywhere, and I can’t remember a day where I haven’t drawn something, even if I don’t finish (That’s a little bit of a bad habit, though. I actually never finish anything. My drawings are always half done, and it’s usually the legs.)As for tips, I guess I have two. The first is that drawing from a picture isn’t a bad thing. References definitely improve your perspective and visualization skills, and that’s most of what art is. But drawing independently is also very important. The second isn’t really a tip, but it’s a little useful. I love drawing people’s faces in three-quarter perspective. It’s easier than straight forward because you don’t have to worry about both sides looking the same or eyes being different sizes, and profiles can end up very wonky unless you have a lot of experience with them.
March 9, 2017 at 8:36 pm #27452@GracieGirl I really like it! He’s got such a great expression, it makes me want to laugh with him!
March 9, 2017 at 8:38 pm #27454@i-j-anderson Wait, you can see him!?!?

March 9, 2017 at 8:39 pm #27455@graciegirl It’s adorable! I love it!
@i-j-anderson Ahh, yes, profiles. I’ve never been able to get them to look right 😉
I’ll keep that in mind about the 3/4 view as well 🙂
Thanks for the tips 😀Currently reading Les Miserables
