“And maybe we can find a towel for you along the way.” I said, giving Synian a hand out of the water. He took it, arm drooping.
“What’s the point? A towel will never dry away the tears of my worthlessness Umen.” Synian wined.
“What is worthlessness Synian? Are you not amongst the sons of the amities. Does not the one who denies their value, give themselves to Shame?”
“Every human is a child of an amity Umen, but I’m not worthy to be counted with their numbers. Look at me Umen, I’m countless eras old, and I got nothing to show for it.” he continued to wallow.
I sighed. I’ve dealt with countless poor souls such as this, and know how to uplift them if they allow themselves to be uplifted, but knowing Synian, I decided to take the short cut. “Synian? Do you mind if I… ?” I asked, gesturing towards the small stones strapped along his body. He shrugged, shoulders sagged.
My eyes carefully examined each one before selecting. I just knew the psychs for a few of them, and only one seemed helpful. I wasn’t sure how much I would regret it.
I selected a stone from his left side and, apologetically, smacked him in the head. His shoulders straightened, and he smiled fondly. “Ah, I know this psych. Why would you choose your own personality?”
“You know why. Because it was the only personality I knew of that would be willing to help.”
“Ah yes, help. But Umen, can’t one find help anywhere? Does not the one who thinks good comes from one place alone, fall into Conformity’s trap?”
“Do I really sound like that?” I asked.
“The truths of ourselves can be the hardest truths to accept.” Synian said tenderly. Yeah, this was going to be weird. “Oh, by the way, how did you know which one was your psych?”
“How could I forget what happened in Talabranth?”
“Huh, people usually forget when I knock them unconscious with a rock. Forgiveness will have her way, breaking the pattern.”
“Alright Synian,” I said, shaking my head, “shall we check out the palace?”
“Yes, I think we shall.” He said. We started walking toward the grand entrance from the side. Synian still dripping wet. We found inside a diverse group of people. I couldn’t even guess what cultures or even sceptres they might belong to, based off of their shapes and clothing alone.
“Ah…” one woman spoke. She was centered amongst the group, and based off of her appearance and how she held herself, she was probably the one in charge, “late arrivals, let’s catch you up.”
(Sorry for my very infrequent posts.)

oh and it’s funny that your character copies the personalities of people he meets by hitting them over the head with rocks. If that’s what he does. It wasn’t super clear to me, but that’s what I got out of it.
I want him to whack all of my characters now and see what he thinks of their personalities lol

Lol, thanks! Synian is under mutual custody between me and princessachronicle. He’s the mysterious quirky type character that explores the Sceptrum.
Yes, so in the Sceptrum, all existing matter and energy can be broken down to the 7 core elements and their respective stone. The 7 stones can absorb or emit their respective element. The human brain is made up mahn, the element of mind, as well as mahn stone. The “rocks” Synian carries are in reality mind stones that absorb some of the mahn when hitting someone in the head, basically imprinting their mental signature. He can then hit the rock against his own head, absorbing that signature into his own mind, taking upon himself their persona. This isn’t something anyone can just do, Synian is doing much more than hitting people with rocks, but he makes it seem that way, as that’s just who he is.
It’d really fun for him to add a few more personalities to his collection. I’m all for it!

Hey, I’m game for letting him have a few personalities. My characters don’t get much of a say in it lol. You could actually use some of them in your actual series if you wanted to. (I’d have to change some names first, but since you’re only taking generic personalities and not their physical form or anything, I don’t actually have to change a lot.)

Yes and no. You may be able to store a mental state, but not a consciousness. Mahn is reducible to lesser parts like a brain, but a consciousness comes from something more fundamental in the Sceptrum. Synian isn’t robbing souls here, and he wouldn’t be becoming that person when he takes on that persona. He is still Synian, just with a different personality.
That being said, there could be some pretty convincing AI type things made from mahn. Like if you imprinted a robot with a personality from one of these stones, it would then be able to act like that person would, but the question of whether or not it’s actually conscious would be up for debate amongst Sceptral scientists and philosophers alike. (That doesn’t sound familiar at all)

Lol, why not? I’m a continuity freak, so while I think these RPs are fun and helpful, I don’t regard them as cannon. That doesn’t mean that Synian can’t have personalities that are direct allusions to some of your characters in the main series though. Easter eggs don’t mess with the cannon as long as they don’t mess with the continuity of the character’s sphere of reality.

@thearcaneaxiom Makes sense!! (Ha, yeah if he stole their souls that’s be really creepy. It makes more sense that he “copies” their minds instead. And it makes sense you could make a kind of AI out of it, too.)
I don’t really consider the roleplays canon either, unless it genuinely fits the story, in which case I’ll make a similar occurrence semi-canon, but that would certainly be funny if I ever picked up a book of your, saw Synian acting a specific way, and thought “Ooh, I know that guy.”
IDK which characters to give you though, and I don’t think either of us wants you to go looking through all the RPs to find one you like, so……
