My comfort books:
Freddy the Pig: I’ve ranted about these several times on here, and if you search Freddy the Pig, you should be able to find them. XD
The Pushcart War: āThe Pushcart War started on the afternoon of March 16, 2026, when a truck ran down a truck belonging to a flower peddler. Daffodils were scattered all over the street. The pushcart was flattened, and the owner of the pushcart was pitched headfirst into a pickle barrel.ā Younger me believed this was a true story. XD
Dave Barry Slept Here: A Sort of History of the United States: Absolutely hilarious parody history. If you didn’t know that the 6th amendment states that if you are convicted of a crime you have a right to go before a jury of people too stupid to get out of jury duty, or that Columbus’ ships were named the Ninja, the Pina Colada, and the Heidy-Ho III, or that Theodore Roosevelt’s big stick was named Betsy, or that Thomas Paine’s Common Sense complained “How many fondue sets does any one colonial family need?”Ā this is the book for you. You do have to know quite a bit of American history to get the jokes though. CW: Some profanity and crude language.
Anything by L. M. Montgomery: Anne of Green Gables, Emily of New Moon, Jane of Lantern Hill, etc. I love them.

February 18, 2025 at 3:10 pm #197960There was one time I went into barnes and noble as a kid and there was this old man selling signed copies of his book Crows in the Autumn Sky. It was about him when he was a kid and he befriended a crow named Sam and taught him to fly.
It was a really good book with cozy summer vibes that kinda reminded me of my dad’s writing style. It was one of the first non fiction books I ever enjoyed.

It’s middle grade fantasy series about a girl in a castle that rearranges itself when bored, but especially on Tuesdays. It’s one of my favorite series.
