So it’s been a long time since I posted here and the world has somehow tiptoed into June. I don’t know how. So I’m thinking we should most probably get a move on with our next book. I think I’ll post the forms for suggestions tomorrow. Any thoughts?

I’m leaving on vacation tomorrow to a place with no internet. I’ll be gone until July 10. Assuming we have a month to read the book again, I should have time to read whatever is chosen when I get back.
I, for one, really like Roman numerals.

Hello! I think it’s really cool you guys have a book club going on and was wondering if I could participate in the next book discussion (whatever it is).
@theshadow That would be wonderful! So basically we’re going to have about a week to suggest books we’d like the group to read; there’s the link below you can click on to do that. Then, once we’re done suggesting, we’ll move on to voting for which options we like the most. That will also be done via google forms. We’ve agreed that a month is a reasonable time span to read the selected book, but if it’s really short or really long we can extend or shorten the time as needed. Once the month is over, we’ll discuss the book and sort of compare thoughts, opinions, etc.

We have agreed that suggestions should not include:
- Magic
- Excessive swearing
- Vivid descriptions of sex
- Vivid descriptions of the occult, or depictions of the occult in a positive way
We’ve got until July 4th to suggest. I’m putting two suggestions per form, but if you would like to fill it out twice, be my guest. You most definitely can suggest the same books as last time–a lot of them looked super cool! 🙂

Looks like we’re reading A Basket of Flowers by Christoph von Schmid! 90% of people voted for it. We also didn’t really get many requests to shorten or lengthen the time span to read it, so we’ll stick to a month. Discussions will start August 15th.

I went to place a hold on this book and my library doesn’t have it. I will try to get it on interlibrary loan, but sometimes those take a while. Ideally it will come in time that I can read it.
