Hi y’all!! so, I’m looking for beta readers, as betrayed by the title.
I’m not sure if you like fantasy or not, but if you do then this is a good opportunity for it!! I do not have a strict dead-line, but I’d love some feedback by the end of the year to see if I need to make any major changes…

what the book is about and what it contains (language or violence or things to be aware of), how we’d contact and when you’d need everything. (Also how it all works because I’ve never been a beta reader before, but I’m kinda interested. Obviously I’d have to run it by my parents first)

It has no language or sexual content (that is something I’m very strict about). It’s adventures of a sister and brother and their journies growing up and crossing the lands. It doesn’t have gory violence, but there are many battles. It’s no more violent than the LoTR. I wrote it for teens.
There’s no strict deadline 🙂 and I have only been a beta reader for my friend, but here is the definition I found:
A beta reader is a test reader of an unreleased work of literature or other writing (similar to beta testing in software), giving feedback with the angle of an average reader to the author about remaining issues. … These test readers are commonly referred to as beta readers. They can tell you what works and what doesn’t.
As far as contacting: I would give you my email, and then you could contact me from there about reading if you’re still interested 🙂 and it would be on google docs.

@elfwing Okay that sounds good! I have never been a beta reader before and am interested but I will need to run it by my parents and pray about it. But I’ll get with u as soon as I have the Go ahead! So u can mark me down as at least a maybe 🤣 if I get the go ahead then it’s a definite yes.

btw it is fantasy and is not an allegory any more than Lord of the Rings is. I instead strongly incorporate lessons like loyalty, honesty, and forgiveness in my stories. It doesn’t have ‘magic’ as in wizards, and witches and such things if that gives you a better idea. Some of the evil people (enemies) do dark things with ‘magic’ but it is clearly marked as evil and never do the right side associate themselves with it.
Not sure if that helps you decide but there you go 🙂

@elfwing Awww, girl I would love to, but right now I’m beta-ing another book, trying to get through a huge stack of sci-fi library books to expand my horizons (since I’m writing sci-fi, after all XD), editing my own book, and writing a part two book T_T If I can get through all of this though I would love to!!!

I wish I could, and your story sounds fun! i love fantasy. wish you the best of luck. you might be able to find more beta readers on Story Embers, or you can search for the “ultimate beta reader list” on Recent Topics.
