October 19, 2024 at 2:13 pm #187898here’s some recent art I had lying around
Huntress chillin’ on a rock with a blue jay. Sometimes I draw her solely to get the practice of drawing females. Up close, I can see I messed up some of the coloring, but ehh.

October 19, 2024 at 2:27 pm #187899Crosshair as a bored king or prince. Most likely, he’s listening to one of his subjects bragging about how they’re the best sharpshooter in the kingdom, and all he wants to do is take out his rifle and teach them a thing or two, but he knows that there are some around him who are not going to like that, and he doesn’t wanna risk losing his throne.
Speaking of his throne, I really like how I drew and colored it.
Why do I always draw him with fantasy AUs? I think it’s just cause he’s so easy to draw–sharp jawline that doesn’t look too out of place in my style, thin body so no need for detailed muscle structure, short hair I don’t have to mess around with much, etc.

October 21, 2024 at 9:19 am #187986Before anyone kills me, these are generalizations and hacks to make a character look more like a girl. NOW, I KNOW NOT ALL GIRLS WILL BE THE SAME. And some may have more masculine features, However, these are some hacks that helped me.
Based off of the drawing you did, I can see some ways that you could improve and help it look more feminine.
1. The Body shape. Girl’s generally have an hour-glass body shape. If you give her more of a defined swoop at the true waist and then have it come out at the hips, that will really help the shape to look more female.
2. Face shape. Jaw line needs to be gentler and you should have some more curves in the face itself.
3. Shoulders. The broader shoulders should typically be saved for guys. And, if you do have a girl with broad shoulders, try to smooth them out a little and keep them from being so sharp.
4. Limbs. Make them a little more slender. Girl’s can have muscles, but the thick arm and legs look a little guyish.
5. The face itself. Rounder eyes, smaller nose. That will really help with the gentler girl look.
6. Of course, hair helps, but your character either has short hair or it’s up. Right?
7. Neck. Try to save the thicker necks for guys and give your girl’s slenderer necks.
I’ll post a picture down below. (Sorry about the horrid clothing. I always add clothes to drawings like this because I think it’s better, but I don’t want them to be distracting so I don’t do a good job of it. lol)

October 21, 2024 at 2:41 pm #188006@ellette-giselle no no that’s actually really helpful! Thanks!
1–Often when I draw Huntress’s vest it goes kinda straight and interferes with the shape of the body some. I need to work on that. There is one scene where I have her without it though, and I’ll be drawing that one soon, so I’ll keep that advice in mind for that.
3–yeah I just have problems with shoulders in general haha, even on guys sometimes.
5–Yeah my art style makes all my characters have kinda blocky eyes. I’ll keep that in mind too, not just for this character but for others.
6–yes the hair’s tied back in this particular image; some drawings of her I have her hair down.
