      @joy-caroline. Oh, trust me. They are. 😭 Ugh. She sounds horrid. *shivers* I see what you mean about Robert! He does sound very complex and a guy that’s wrestling with lies and truth. Hey, maybe one day you can write a redemption story for him! (just an idea…I love redemption arcs. 🥰)

      Oh yes. He does. Trust me. He most definitely struggles with some trauma from that past. 😫

      Ooh, good question! Some of my characters do have PTSD! (I didn’t know much of anything about it until reading Louis Zamperini’s story, and suddenly, *BAM* some of my characters have PTSD. Ever heard of Zamperini, by the way? 😄) Let’s see…. first off, there’s Riker, an MC, from my main WIP, Freedom’s Fire. Though his PTSD isn’t always obvious, it comes out, of course, when he’s triggered. His PTSD comes from growing up with a father (Franz, I dislike him just as much, if not more, than Hans😖) that verbally AND physically abused him. His PTSD is triggered by yelling, screaming, and the smell of alcohol, as his father was, and is, an alcoholic. Then there’s William, who marries one of my MC’s, Esther, who has a bit of PTSD that comes from losing his parents in a house fire when he was little. So, like, when he sees or hears a fire that’s when he’s triggered. 😢 Then both Nathan and Nehemiah, both MC’s from different American Revolution His-Fic books, have PTSD. Nathan’s from battle and being taken from his family at the young age of twelve to fight for the British army. And Nehemiah’s from his experiences as a Royal Navy seaman (which involved getting whipped after he deserted, poor boy…) and a slave to a horrible, HORRIBLE man that hurt him in more ways than one. And I can’t imagine that Leon, the other MC from Freedom’s Fire, doesn’t have at least SOME PTSD after coming out of the Concentration Camp. Oh, and Ezra, who gets an innate fear of flying a plane after his plane crashes and kills half the crew and his best friend and he and the rest of his crew become prisoners of war to the Nazi’s. So like, when he thinks about flying a plane again and possibly killing someone or honestly, even being in a plane will probably trigger PTSD. 🥺 Wow. That was a lot. I didn’t even really see all of them as having PTSD at first, but now that you asked and I thought about it, they all came to mind. So thanks! You’ve helped with Character Development! 🥳

      (Yay! *high-fives* I love the topic of adoption too! I honestly want to adopt one day! 🥰 Do you?)

      Ooh, favorite Marvel Movie? Hmm…it might be a tie. 😆 But honestly, probably Captain America: The Winter Soldier. That movie…oh, I love it. But also, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are my favs, so…🤣 But in a VERY CLOSE second, Captain America: The First Avenger. Mostly because of the WWII background of it. 😍

        Well, actually, Alan specifically struggles with PTSD both from his childhood and his Army Experience, Joy! So…he’s another one with PTSD. 🙁

          @freedomwriter76 OH PRAISE GOD!!!! (That’s a relief!)

          I LOVE those moodboards! (And omgosh why do all your face claims for your heroes have to be so good-lookin’? *sighs* We need more ugly characters. XDD)

          (And don’t worry, girl! You can do it!! :D)

              @gracie-j. @elishavet-pidyon. @koshka. @joy-caroline. And…another mood board! This one for my possible WIP, Learn to Love Again, a Novel about the War in Afghanistan. This is for the MC, Tyler. 😉

                And…might as well share the blurb. 😉

                Tyler is a US Army Corporal fighting in Afghanistan. He’s been there for years now, and everyone is fully aware that he’s war-scarred and battle-hardened. He hasn’t been the same since his friend and fellow soldier James died, and everyone is wise enough to give him a wide berth. Tyler keeps a tough outer shell, avoids chapel, and drinks, all while fighting for his country. But his shell is challenged when a young, abandoned Afghani girl makes her way into his life. The Seven-Year-Old’s sweet smile and no-nonsense attitude are hard not to love. But Tyler can’t. Not after everything that’s happened. With everything that he’s seen, he knows it’s dangerous to love. But when Rima’s in danger and no one else knows about her, Tyler breaks strict orders in order to rescue her. Only…problems come.

                Pulled together through the turmoil and pains of war, Tyler and Rima learn much along the way. But even so, is Rima’s sweetness and devotion enough? And if so, will Tyler be able to learn to love again?

                  @freedomwriter76

                  Hmm, DOES Robert get a redemption arc? 😏 We’ll just have to wait and find out…

                  But yes, I love redemption arcs too! Do you have a favorite? I really love the redemption arc of Cesare Di Susa from Nova McBee’s Calculated series (amazing books, if you’re ever looking for a complex YA thriller). He goes from being a crime boss and member of the Italian mafia to a good man who helps to save the world. I just love him. 🥰

                  Woahhhh… your poor characters. 😢 Sounds like they all go through a lot. (Glad I could help out!) And I want to hear more about this Nehemiah dude… @gracie-j is right, your heroes ARE good-lookin’. XD And poor Alan! I just keep liking him more and more. *cries*

                  Aw, that’s awesome! I most definitely want to adopt! I think it’s such a beautiful earthly representation of how God adopts us to be His children.

                  Awwwesomeeee! Btw, since you like Marvel, I think you might really enjoy Ignite by our very own @jenwriter17. It’s a superhero novel with lots of Marvel Universe vibes!

                    AWWWWWW THAT STORY BLURB IS SO SWEET, I ACTUALLY HAVE TEARS IN MY EYES RIGHT NOW FROM SMILING SO HARD. *coughs* Ahem. BUT OH MY GOODNESS AHHHHHHHHH IT SOUNDS SO DARN CUTEEEEEEEEEE

                    And I LOVE those quotes about family in your moodboard!!!!

                    P.S.: Where do you find good face claims for your military characters? I only have one face claim for Russell. *sobs*

                    Also, how many WIPs do you have??? XD

                      @joy-caroline. OOH. I’m so intrigued!!!!! I HOPE HE DOESSSS!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰

                      Hmm…favorite redemption arc (other than some of my own, XD) would have to be the redemption arc of Adler from The Sky Above Us by Sarah Sundin. His wasn’t a complete turn-around, I would say, but it was still a great redemption. OOH! Or Jacob Chauncy from Preacher on the Run by Jayna Baas! His redemption made a few tears fall, that is for certain!!! 🤩 That character sounds intriguing! 😄

                      Yes. My poor characters. 😭 Nehemiah’s still in quite a bit of a development stage, lol, but I can share what I do know about him if you’d like! 😉 Haha. They are VERY good lookin’. XD Ahh, girl, same. Same. I keep loving all my characters, except the bad guys, of course, more and more. 😍 (hah. I just hate the bad guys more and more. XD)

                      Awesome! Another girl that wants to adopt one day! My best friend wants to adopt as well! 😀

                      I’ve seen the review here on KP and heard quite a bit about her book! I just need to buy it already! 😆

                      AWW, THANK YOU!!!! It’s most definitely the sweetest story I’ve ever come up with! 🥰 It’ll be a story of a Hardened Army man learning to love again, and GIRL, YOU HAVE NO IDEAAA!!! RIMA IS SOOOOOOO CUTEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍

                      I LOVE THE QUOTES TOOO!!!!!!! 🤩

                      Haha. Actually, I first looked up “army character inspiration” and found nothing good. So…I looked up “handsome men in army uniform” and found one that looked like Tyler! XD Yes, I looked up handsome men specifically. XD XD XD I just find pics anywhere on the internet, and I just see one and I’m like: “Yep. That’s them.” 😝

                      Hmmm…..let’s see….how many WIP’s? Hang on. I’m gonna count. 😝 Some have basically been put on backburner for now, but…10. XD And that DOESN’T include my Marvel fanfic I’ve been working on and a few short story ideas I’ve written down. XD XD XD

                        @freedomwriter76

                        Afghanistan in the War on Terror?

                        I have an Uncle who fought over there.

                        If you want more study material, I recommend American Heroes, the book I mentioned earlier. (In fact, if at all possible you NEED to read that book. It details the war from a first hand, yet not graphic, point of view, as Colonel Oliver North worked right beside soldiers and civilians, even in combat.)

                        Aw, Rima sounds so sweet…what family background does she come from? (Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindi, ect.)

                        First Grand Historian of Arreth and the Lesser Realms (aka Kitty)

                          @koshka. Yep. Aww, girl, that’s awesome! I have two uncles that fought in the middle east too. I think it was Iran or Iraq though.

                          I need to find that book! Thanks again for the recommendation! 😀

                          Rima is SO sweet. <3 She’s young, so she doesn’t really follow any religious belief, but her family was most likely Muslim. She wears a scarf/hijab still, but like…she doesn’t really believe in any belief right now.

                            @freedomwriter76

                            Oh, I missed your question from earlier! I actually first heard of Louis Zamperini a little over a year ago, when my Bible teacher had us watch a video where he was talking about what he went through as a POW and the process of finding God and forgiving those who had hurt him so much. It was SO powerful, I was so impacted by his story. The part where he talked about forgiving The Bird was just 😭😭😭 And how he went to personally tell his former captors he forgave them! I don’t know if I would be able to do the same.

                            Ooh, Preacher on the Run is on my TBR! It looks so good! And I’ve heard a lot about Sundin’s books. Have you read any others of hers?

                            Yeah! I’d love if you could share some fun facts about Nehemiah! XD

                            RIMA LITERALLY SOUNDS ADORABLEEEEEE. AND I LOVE THAT LITTLE SNIPPET FROM A SCENE BETWEEN HER AND TYLER.

                            XDDD I’ll just have to go to my search bar and type in “handsome men in army uniform” myself XD XD

                            WOAAHHHH. That’s a lot of WIPs! I have a biblical fiction series hanging out in my head, and I’ve written a little of the first book, but I have that project set aside right now so I can focus on Where Faith Remains. I definitely want to write it and publish it someday, though!

                                  @joy-caroline. OOH, AWESOME!!!! Yes, his full story is beautiful! I read his full Biography, Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand AND I’ve watched and own the two movies based on his story! I don’t think I could do what he did either. 😉

                                  Preacher on the Run is EPIC!!!! It’s my absolute favorite Novel of all time! I read her full Sunrise at Normandy series. The book with Adler was book 2. My favorite of the three was Wyatt though. (@gracie-j understands why. XD)

                                  I’ll need to think about some fun facts about him. I’m trying to decide how he became a slave. Oh, but one fact I can share is that he was pressed into the Royal Navy by a press gang at 15. He tried to desert and got whipped at 16. And by age 18, he was bought by Edward Cummings. I’m kinda like…”But how did he become a slave?” I’m thinking he deserted again, and that time it was successful, and then…got captured, turned into a slave, and sold to Cummings. Poor boy. *sobs*

                                  Ooh, Biblical Fiction!? The only Biblical fiction book I’ve ever read was The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare. It’s an epic Biblical Fiction Novel. And the final scene…oh, so beautiful. Makes me cry every time. Happy tears. But tears none the less. 🥰 But yeah…I have a lot. XD My family’s always like: “Just focus on one and finish it, then worry about all the others!” And I’m like: “BUT I LIKE TO MULTITASKKKK!!!!!” XD XD XD
